Poppo's Taqueria - St. Pete

I've been ordering from Poppo's since they first opened and their food is seriously delicious. My recent orders from them have been disappointing, however, because they seem to be following the Chipotle business model with raising prices and decreasing portions. Their portions have never been huge, but for their old prices, it was still so worth it. I ordered tacos today, though, and I'm deeply disappointed. My byo tacos had maybe a tablespoon and a half of meat, and the cheese was so paltry it was insulting. I'll attach a picture that shows every single piece of jack cheese on my taco. There's literally only like six individual shreds. I also ordered a full size of chips and salsa and my chip bag had maybe twenty chips in it. Maybe they accidentally gave me the half order, Idk. While the ancho chicken and carne asada was tender and flavorful, and their salsa is one of my favorites in town, the paltry portions for a $5 taco and chips for the salsa is ridiculous.

amazing food and customer service! freshly pressed tortillas and tacos on every order. I really enjoy the staff and how they make me feel welcome with each visit. I just moved to downtown and this is my new go to place for a meal.

Food was delicious. They were out of a few things like the pineapple salsa but it is memorial weekend so probably have been pretty busy. Service was quick and friendly. We will def be back!

This place is excellent My new favorite eattery !!! The fresh handmade tortillas your choice flour or corn. The pineapple salsa w the made to order chips banging! This place is just so good if your going downtown st.pete make sure to stop here first

Ordered Poppo's for pickup this afternoon, and I'm upset with myself for not trying it sooner. The ingredients are super fresh, flavors perfectly balanced, excellent variety of sauces/ingredients. Super satisfying. I'll be back - soon!

Parking: I found a spot on Central, but can sometimes be challenging. Unsure if they've got a lot in the back.

staff was very friendly when taking my order, and the variety of topping was great! only thing i could constructively criticize is the freshness of the food, however, i did come during a lunch rush so that's kind of a give-in.

Very considerate staff, genuinely the food is 10/10 and staff is 11/10. I would drive down from tampa every day to get this food from this specific location. I’m not kidding when I say this is my favorite place to eat and I could give each of the staff members a forehead kiss for how nice they were to me.

I found Poppos one day after work as I crawled down the street from starvation. The smells lured me in, and as drool pooled from my mouth onto the floor the angels that worked there provided me with the most ethereal burrito. The size of my face, the smells of heaven ... I will never go to Chipotle again (I hated them anyways). Every time my stomach feels the pangs of hunger my nose threatens the smells of this establishment. I love it so much.

For the price, not worth it IMO. The food is mid. Service was good. Just another overpriced, metal chair inhabited, basic spot.
