I could overlook the paint peeling from the balcony railings and litter strewn around the perimeter of the parking lot, but not the service. The front desk staff is surly. The clerks on duty when we checked in. They did not greet us nor did they inform us of the breakfast time, a standard practice at all the other breakfast included Marriott properties we stayed at. And they did not properly program our key cards; I had to wait outside our assigned room with our luggage while my husband returned to the lobby to get cards that worked. Pool towels were distributed at the front desk. The clerk on duty was not pleased that we had the audacity to interrupt her lunch. Yes, she was eating lunch at the front desk while reluctantly serving guests. Our elite status with Marriott provides us with the option for a late check out on request. This property does not provide any elite status perks. There is a makeshift sign at the pool that instructs guests to return used pool towels to the front desk. Never mind that the front desk staff was not pleasant when we returned our wet towels (here I will cut them some slack), most guests either did not notice the sign or ignored it. The pool deck and furniture was strewn with used towels. You would think that the hotel management would catch on and provide a bin in which guests may place their towels. Or at least position the sign demanding returning the towels to the front desk so it faces guests as they enter the pool area, not as they leave. I understand that hotels are trying to be environmentally responsible by replacing "single serve" bath gel, shampoo, and conditioners with wall dispensers. But in our room in this hotel, the bath gel dispenser was empty, the pump on the conditioner wouldn't pump, and the shampoo dispenser was lying on the shower floor. The shower was improperly caulked and in the places where the caulk was intact It is best to forgo the free breakfast and go to the Waffle House across the street. Food that should be hot is lukewarm at temperatures below safe food handling standards and food that should be chilled aren't. Two of the $9.99 dollar store toasters were broken, and I did not see any attendant to clean the tables between guests. I recommend that you consider staying at one of Marriott's lesser brands when in Daytona. At least most of those brands have self serve waffle makers at their breakfast buffet. But avoid this prop

We came here 2 years ago and really enjoyed our stay, the hotel views from the room and the not so crowded beach front. We booked this hotel again this year for one reason: Yuri. We love the friend we’ve made at the bar, he’s very welcoming, makes the best drinks and just a happy familiar face to see when we get back from dinner or grabbing a drink inbetween some beach time. Truly the hotels hidden gem, make sure to try one of his margaritas!

The hotel itself is nice. It's in a good location. However, my experience this trip has put a damper on our stay. Being a Titanium Elite means nothing to this hotel. I texted with them at 11 am on the day of check in and asked if it was possible for a 2:00 check in. She said they were running behind on cleaning rooms but would try. When I arrived at 2:00 and subsequently checked with them again at 3:00 and then again at 3:35, I was told that it was not ready. At 4:00 checkin time, it was not ready, resulting in my request to speak to the manager, Robert. He continued the excuse of his staff being behind. At 4:20, we were told we could finally get into our room. I understand being short staffed and running behind. But it would seem to me, someone who has Titanium status, who has stayed for decades with Marriott, would be given some consideration in being insured the room was ready... even if an early check in was impossible. But then again, Titanium status at Marriott Corporate means nothing. I can understand why fellow Elite members are going elsewhere. The Suite Night awards, for example, are a joke. The request is so frequently rejected, I no longer even try. I no longer consider myself loyal to Marriott and will retain Titanium status only because I am lifetime Titanium. If you are Elite status, you know what I mean. If you aren't, it's no longer worth achieving. Marriott aka Bonvoy has ruined its Elite Guest program.

I have not been greated or not greated ever. The front desk people make us feel we were interrupting them. No thanks for being an elite member not even an acknowledgement we were there for about 10 minutes. Every day we passed by the front desk and not a smile or good morning.., , nothing. When I tried to leave a review on Marriott website it said you can only leave a review if you are invited to do so.

Here now. Bonvoy Titanium elite. Not so good: It is unclean and rundown. It was very nice the last time we stayed. Still heavily damaged on beach acces area and the pool is filled with orange sand and dirt. Shower does not drain. The sofa cushions are badly hand-stitched where previously ripped and are all stained and threadbare in places. Base of lamp is covered in rust. Doors /handles are dirty. Good: The woman who was working in the bar today was wonderful! Very friendly and helpful! A gem! Also, one of the hospitality crew on our floor today assisted us with need for towels and TP. She was very pleasant and appreciated her help!

Staying here for JeepBeach and had a rainy afternoon. Headed to the bar for food and cocktails for lunch. Had a really great lemon drop martini by the super friendly and talented Yuri. Fresh squeezed which is hard to find these days in Daytona Beach. Delicious choice! Highly recommend! Great customer service from Yuri! Ordered a couple of burgers and fries to go. Yuri went to go check on them when they were taking a bit. Made sure that we got everything! Great experience, highly recommend.

Really nice property. Staff very attentive. The bartender Yuri was outstanding. He really knew how to make a classic.martini, a dying art these days. Very professional service. So we thoroughly enjoyed the bar a lot!

We stay at this hotel every year for the Daytona 500. It's nice because it's south of Daytona beach so away from all of the crowds. The Asst GM Giovanni helped me with our reservation and I changed it several times and he was patient, courteous and responsive. He was able to get us on a higher floor which was so appreciated. The day of our arrival the Marriott app wasn't showing the right day so I called early that morning and Mary helped figure it out and made sure I was checked in correctly....she took a lot of time. Meanwhile Giovanni had answered my email also on his day off....very dedicated. The guy on nights was also friendly as well as Robin. The room is magnificent...we had two queen suite Oceanfront which has so much room and two huge balconies. The views are amazing and you can see the beach from the side too. The breakfast is the best of any Marriott. The hotel is clean and housekeeping responds promptly to any request. I also really enjoyed Sheila at the bar and grill and enjoyed the food and drinks. The hotel is pet friendly and while the beach isn't pet friendly people take their dogs to the many little tree patches throughout the parking lot. These are the reasons we come back every year. It's our absolute favorite Marriott thanks to Giovanni and the staff.

Front desk reception was not friendly for a gold elite member. Room was OK, but worst b athroom of any decent motel. Could not sit properly on toilet because off positioning of paper holder. Had to stand under shower to turn on. Pool deck and pool not abailable due to Ian, but now allowance made in room price. Free breakfast was adequate at best.

We stopped here to get a night on the beach as we made the move from Dallas to West Palm Beach. Highlights included being pet friendly (but no apparent place to take the dog to the bathroom and I was literally “shooed” off the grass at the adjacent hotel), beach front (but no actual access because hurricanes ripped the sea walls apart and it wasn’t safe), the included breakfast (SO GOOD! Literally all the things you’ve ever had at any hotel breakfast and then some), and YURI (he’s mentioned in a lot of reviews for a reason! Awesome dude and so helpful and friendly!). We ordered the wings and burger w/ fries (we were warned against the quesadilla and nachos) and everything we ordered was delicious! Yuri was also flexible and creative in creating a new drink for me based on the ingredients I labeled! He definitely made the stay better! “Average” rating instead of “very good” bc of the state of the hotel- maybe it’s bc we had a “pet friendly” room, but it definitely felt dilapidated and with several layers of paint and just general sloppiness with refurbishing/updates.

I have so many mixed feelings about the hotel. Firstly, they have suffered a considerable amount in the area. The storms really did a significant amount of damage to the shore line. I think every hotel or condo has been hit in some way. I do feel for them and you should make an effort to visit. However, the property does need a renovation, especially the rooms. Size of the rooms is brilliant, we had a studio type room. They are a little tired now though. Staff overall ok, some reception staff give the impression they really don’t want to be there. I put this down to poor management and if you look at the responses from the manager here they are mainly cut and paste. Not good. A special mention has to go to Yuri behind the bar. He was absolutely fantastic. Update the rooms and sort everyone else out and we will be back.

I really enjoyed my experience at The Hurricane Bar & Grille last night! Although it was busy when we arrived, we were greeted right away. Our bartender, Yuri was wonderful! He made our entire experience so great! He was engaging, courteous, professional, friendly, helpful, and had a contagious smile. We left feeling like we made a new friend. We will absolutely come back and hope to see him again! What a remarkable asset to this location he is!!!

My wife and I booked a room at the Residence Inn in Daytona Beach Shores because we have had good experiences with that chain in the past. However, never at this location. The room was a disappointment. The A/C had a low screaming sound coming from it. And once we went to be we realized it wasn’t blowing cold enough air to lower the temp in the room. The worst experience was going to the front seat the next morning to tell the person about it and she wasn’t really listening. When the phone rang she just picked it up and started talking without saying excuse me. Total disrespect. It was clear she didn’t want to hear what we were sharing. We just walked away. We won’t return.

For years we stay a few days in the fall in this hotel. At first it was wonderful. But since the Covid crisis it has been in constant decline. In 2021 we have already seen that friendliness and service were weak points. This year in 2022 this is confirmed. There is an obvious lack of management of employees who are not indifferent. During breakfast, there were always three employees in the room, quite nonchalant, who spent their time staring at the customers. And the breakfast was bad. Fortunately, this hotel has the quality of the location for it. But I don't think I'll be going back there in 2023. There are probably long-stay hotels in Daytona Beach that offer the best value for money

Great beach front.Unfortunately beach access was washed out by the hurricane Rooms where a great family size but the carpets and couch where stained and very very worn out. Hot water is a problem. If you ran the water for 4 mins you would get warm water. Breakfast offered a good variety . Found a creepy crawler on our last night and showed the manager. Not up to Marriott standard
