Best sushi in Florida! My husband and I have had sushi in Japan and various states in the USA. We have found a lot of great locations. This is by far our favorite in the USA. The fish is not only fresh but meticulously crafted and served. We go 1-2 times per year and the experience is never quite the same, but always incredible. The communication barrier with some of the staff can be a slight challenge, but mostly the entire staff is friendly and helpful and, most importantly, very passionate about their work (art!). Yes, it’s expensive, but you get what you pay for :) thank you, Rexley and team, for being the culinary highlight of our year for each of last ~5 years! We will continue coming back to experience the amazing sushi you create!

We went as a couple for their sushi offering. This was the kind of high-end sushi experience you see on tv. If you can keep an open mind and dare to try new things, you will enjoy this experience. We would definitely go back again to have these unique and rare fishes in sushi form. Wonderful.

We looked for a good Sushi restaurant for 3 years and finally found Sushi Sho Rexley .
If I could give them 6 stars I would
I have eaten in NY city at a $400 a person and Rexley’s is better.

It is absolutely delicious with top-notch service!

This is probably the most less qualified omakase I ever experienced. The fish was not fresh at all. Their sauce was so salty especially the one goes with abalone and mushroom. There was nothing impressed us. The purple sweet potato with matcha ice-cream at the end probably was the best dish. Their sakes were good and the host did a good job serving our drinks. Overall, I don’t think I would recommend this place with the price $196 for Signature Omakase. Not worth it.

At only 10 seats, Sushi Sho Rexley is definitely one of the most intimate restaurants in St Pete. Rexley, the master sushi chef, prepares every course by hand right before your eyes. His brother Arte, the embodiment of hospitality, will keep your glasses full and make you feel right at home.
Sushi Sho is true feast of the senses as you watch Rexley slice perfect sheets of sashimi, as you smell the A5 Wagyu searing, as you hear the hear the room descent into perfect silence as each guest suddenly becomes enraptured by the tastes and textures that their tongues are experiencing.
A well deserved Michelin star has now been awarded to this fine establishment and they earned every bit of it. I have personally been eating here since for 7 years now and they always manage to keep the menu changing with the ebb and flow of the seasons and the oceans. Fresh seafood is flown in regularly ensuring you are eating a world class meal every time you dine at Sushi Sho Rexley.

My first omakase experience and I enjoyed every moment. If you enjoy sushi and find yourself downtown St Petersburg this place is a must! Me and my partner had a wonderful first time experience at this restaurant, the sushi and sake pairings were incredible, and it was a very nice welcoming atmosphere with attentive service! Super intimate place so perfect for a date night, anniversary, or special occasion. We will definitely be back.

This was certainly an experience. The service was incredible from the waiter. The chef was a bit offputting. He seemed to pay a lot of attention to the four people directly in front of him even when we would try and ask questions and be a part of the conversation.
I treated my mom to a special evening here and the omakase experience was lovely. For a few I didn’t love, but I was absolutely astonished by more than I anticipated. I would certainly try again for a special occasion as the fish was fresh and the waiter was kind enough to help answer our questions!

Have eaten here between 5-10 times over the past 3-4 years and nearly all of the experiences I have had were positive EXCEPT for this last time. This last experience I had about a month ago really sat with me and my party that attended the reservation with me. The sushi Chef Michael made the experience unbearable from the get go. I don't know what it was about me and the other 3 guests, but we arrived on time and sat down to Michael glaring at us while zesting a citrus fruit. Throughout the night it seemed that Michael was judging my party, our conversation, and just overall anything we did. On top of Michaels overall uncomfortable demeanor, the other Sushi Chef who I believe is one of the owners typically sits in the back and doesn't say one word and judges as well. I will say the waiter/restaurant manager is extremely nice. Aside from the restaurant manager, eating at this restaurant is an extremely cold and uninviting experience, which is a shame because the food is excellent. If you want to have great food in terrible atmosphere this place is for you. This place is also not cheap, so it's very disappointing to dine here and then feel like you paid to be judged. Oh, also it was my birthday. Happy birthday to me!

Sushi Sho Rexley is kind of terrible. I've never gone to an expensive restaurant and then walked away hungry. Food was excellent, but quantity was totally lacking. I understand the quality of the ingredients, but I've been more satisfied at a Saturday morning at a CostCo with their samples and that didn't cost $300. Want good sushi? Go to Saki or Umami.

OMG! My taste buds will never be the same. It's not sushi at all it's a complete experience of not ordinary food. It's an adventure of faraway places of foods presented in an extraordinary fashion unlike I ever experienced right in our backyard. Just a Fabulous experience. It was amazing! I wouldn't be able to tell you which piece was the best, one must just experience it. The presentation was also out of this area. Can't wait to do it again.

Hands down the best dining experience and freshest food in St Pete. Fish and sake are brought in from New Zealand, Canada, and other parts of the world. Great place to meet locals too. The owners are so knowledgeable about what they serve, and they'll adjust dishes if you have food allergies. Do not expect tuna or cucumber rolls that you can get anywhere.
