My favorite omakase I have ever been to. Intimate setting, but not too flashy. The food is outstanding. Everyone is very professional. The sake pairing is the cherry on top. Second to none!

It was our first Omakase experience, and it felt truly authentic — like being welcomed into a home to experience the freshness and essence of Japanese cuisine. The flavor and freshness were just WOW — something I had never experienced before! I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite dish.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and Chef Rexley, his team, and everyone there made us feel so special. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and relaxed… thank you! WE’LL BE BACK!

This was so lovely. My husband was super late because there was some kind of event in downtown St. Pete. So I would tell anyone who's trying to come here to figure out parking beforehand. But the staff was so polite and completely understanding - they even reserved the two dishes he missed so he could enjoy them afterwards, and the food (and sake pairing) was out of this world. Definitely an amazing experience and if my wallet allows it, I would love to go back!

I think I transcended for a minute during that experience. My soul briefly left my body somewhere between the third and fourth course, probably hovering above the counter whispering thank yous to the chef, Michael. Every bite was ridiculous in the best way possible, like edible enlightenment. I might never recover, and honestly, I don’t want to.

Had very good dinner! We loved it. Very fresh fish, properly handled and served. Lots of flavor yet very simple. I would come back.

Similar to traditional Omakase in Japan

We loved our first experience at Sushi Sho Rexley! The service was impeccable, and watching the course preparation at the counter seating felt special. There was a nice selection of Japanese beer and sake. The nigiri omakase offering was rich in variety. We’ve visited Japan several times and this felt like being transported for the evening! Thank you, Sushi Sho Rexley!

I have not even eaten her yet but I just moved from ny to Chicago to st Pete and this place already makes me feel whole. I can tell the quality just by the picture and I am very excited to try. This looks like in St Pete it is in a league of this own. We need more higher quality sushi restraunts like this in the area please! Let’s bring more toro to St Pete haha

A friend invited me here as his guest and WOW—what an unforgettable experience! ✨ Michael, one of the Itamaes and the evening’s main storyteller, was absolutely phenomenal. The way he guided the entire meal felt like watching a master conductor lead an orchestra—flawless, engaging, and full of energy.

I indulged in several TBOs (trust me, each one was better than the last), while my friend ordered the sake—smooth, balanced, and dangerously delicious. 🍶

We did the first seating at 5:30, a 90-minute experience that went by in the blink of an eye. Every moment felt intentional, curated, and filled with joy.

To give you an idea of how special this place is: the couple seated next to us had just returned from months in Japan, and they said they found themselves comparing every meal there to this one. That’s how extraordinary it was.

This isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience.
Go. Eat. Smile. Laugh. And let Itamae Michael take you on a culinary journey you’ll never forget.

I really enjoyed the sake pairing, the bluefin tuna, the salmon, and the fried crabs (a nice, unique touch). The bluefin was definitely the highlight for me.

Unfortunately, the rest of the food was underwhelming. I had trouble getting through a couple of dishes, and I noticed others around me seemed to be having the same issue. I was also surprised to be served Tarpon Springs shrimp, which was bland and unexciting.

The chef (not Rexley or Arte, though I can’t remember his name) was pretentious and hard to talk to. He was very opinionated and came off as snooty.

On the bright side, Arte was great. He was kind, attentive, and clearly cares about his guests’ experience, which helped elevate the evening.

For a place that gets so much local praise, I left feeling disappointed. I don’t see what all the hype is about and won’t be returning.

Unfortunately disappointed. We were really looking forward to the signature omakase at Sushi Sho Rexley, especially since we’ve enjoyed dozens of omakase experiences in various locations and had heard great things about this one. The GM and head chef were both warm and welcoming, but the night didn’t live up to expectations. We arrived early as instructed, and were made to sit there and wait 20 minutes past the confirmed start time for a guest who never arrived, which was an unfortunate start.

The sushi itself was okay, but the biggest disappointment was the hosting. The sous chef running the dinner only engaged with half of the eight guests at the ten-seat table, and said fewer than around 10 words to us and another couple next to us the entire night. For an omakase- where the interaction and storytelling are as important as the food- the lack of attention or care really took away from the experience.

Overall, it felt underwhelming and inconsistent for the price point (roughly $600). For local comparison at similar price points, we found the Omakase at Noble Rice and Ebbe to be much better experiences overall. With stronger in-dining hosting and more consistency in guest experience, this could be a great spot, but unfortunately this visit really missed the mark tonight.

Best sushi in Florida! My husband and I have had sushi in Japan and various states in the USA. We have found a lot of great locations. This is by far our favorite in the USA. The fish is not only fresh but meticulously crafted and served. We go 1-2 times per year and the experience is never quite the same, but always incredible. The communication barrier with some of the staff can be a slight challenge, but mostly the entire staff is friendly and helpful and, most importantly, very passionate about their work (art!). Yes, it’s expensive, but you get what you pay for :) thank you, Rexley and team, for being the culinary highlight of our year for each of last ~5 years! We will continue coming back to experience the amazing sushi you create!

We went as a couple for their sushi offering. This was the kind of high-end sushi experience you see on tv. If you can keep an open mind and dare to try new things, you will enjoy this experience. We would definitely go back again to have these unique and rare fishes in sushi form. Wonderful.
