Taverna Costale

This is a quality location for a nice meal in downtown St Petersburg. The service was GREAT, the food was good and price was fair. The only downside to this location is that the restrooms are out in the lobby of the building it is located in and not well marked. Is it a deal breaker? No. They have an indoor/outdoor bar that is a great feature as well.

Great food and even better service. They were able to accommodate food allergies and were very helpful

It was a quiet night for a Saturday..... went for the Restaurant Week menu. Food and service were very good.

Very surprised it was so open during a Sunday brunch hour! Super accommodating or our 2 year old and excellent service. Food is always tremendous BUT they did NOT have any Iron Skillet Focaccia available this morning!! How does that happen?!?!? Still great anyway will be back

Blaze was very pleasant , He also helped with food choices . Our food choices were delicious and served with beautiful presentation . Loved the bread ! Looking forward to next time :)

Swordfish was amazing, orecchietta with sausage was not: wasn't shaped that way and flavor was weak. Waiter was VERY attentive but a bit impatient with our slow ordering. Overall very nice

Quiet Tuesday evening with relaxed and professional service, delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. Blaze, our sever, was attentive.Not overbearing, good sense of humor and took great care of us. Short rib special eaten by my husband was declared to be delicious ( I didn't get a taste 😎 ). I opted for lighter fare, the mussels appetizer and caprese salad as my entree. Both were tasty as can be and generous portions. Had some delicious lemon liqueur for dessert - Aqua Di Cedro, which is most lovely. A great way to spend a Tuesday evening

Always enjoy dinner at Taverna Costale. Staff is friendly and helpful, and food is delicious.

My wife and I dined on a Saturday night and we were anxious to try Chef Fabio's local restaurant. We lived in Chicago for many years and ate several times at his Chicago spots (Siena Tavern and Bar Siena) which were consistently delicious (so many good meals) with great, attentive service. All I can say is at least our service was great. Our server was punctual and attentive throughout the meal. However when the food started coming out, it was very average and disappointing. Caprese salad was heavily seasoned with salt/pepper to cover what tasted like Sysco mozzarella. I had the cioppino seafood stew which was again bland and lifeless. My wife had a margherita pizza (Roman style crust) which was underwhelming. So we chose to pay our ticket and have desert elsewhere.

We were a party of 6 on a tight time schedule in advance of a show at the Mahaffey Theater. Food and service were amazing and we exited right on time. No one made us felt rushed..Great experience! We will be back...again!

Great food, excellent service and a great view of the scene in downtown St. Pete. Beer selection was interesting and the cocktails were good according to my wife. Definitely a spot I will eat at again.

My husband and I enjoyed a Valentine's dinner there with another couple. The service and food were excellent. Taverna Costale is one of our favorite restaurants downtown, highly recommend!

This past weekend, I booked a reservation on OpenTable for five people at taverna Costale. When we arrived, on time for our reservation, the hostess, let us know very rudely that their Wi-Fi was down, and that she did not have our reservation. I explained to her that I had made the reservation through OpenTable, and even showed her our email confirmation. She said it doesn't matter I don't have your reservation. I said ok well, do you have a table for five? To which she responded no it will be about an hour wait. While I understand that things come up, and situations happen... the response from the hostess was terrible. Additionally, I spoke to the manager who was a little bit more apologetic, but wasn't able to help us. Mind you there were multiple tables available. We decided that we would wait and have a drink at the bar, and we watched a table of 10 get up. I asked the manager if they could give us that table maybe break it down, and she said no I have a reservation coming in. Which is crazy since their reservation system is down? Anyways... The food was good. The management is is terrible. Beware if you want to come on a weekend they may or may not have your reservation....

Came in for lunch today with my girlfriend, the atmosphere and music was on point, server was kind and polite but not to overwhelming and there pasta was just a blast of flavors, i appreciate some good italian espically in stpete where theres not that many spots that make me go like wow. But this spot, definitely check it out!
