This was a terrible experience!! Bird pooped on me, when I asked to move was told no other seats but there were seats all around. I decided to stay figured it would be ok. We sat and waited for over 25 minutes. It was only the 2 of us. I saw large groups of 6 or more around us who came 15 minutes afterwards getting their food. When I asked I was told wings take about 8minutes to fry. At this point we ordered soup.
Still nothing for another 10 minutes for a total of 35 minute wait. The soup then came. When I questioned the first thing the server stated was “do you want me to cancel the order”. After more than 40 minutes the order should hv been on the way out. It should also not been his first response. Finally when I saw a third table get their meal and we did not even get our wings I asked to cancel the order. There was no manager or anyone that came to our table to apologize, no adjustment on the bill. If I did not know better I would think it was because we were the only people of color in the place.

During my visit, the waiter KAIO C was rude from the start. When it came time to pay, the bill was higher than what I had ordered, and I didn't receive a clear explanation. It was a very unpleasant experience, and I hope the establishment takes action.

First time customer, but based on food, service and management - would probably seek a different location.

Megan was wonderful! So sweet and very accommodating. Giving 4 stars only because we asked for a round of drinks to finish up our meal and they took 25+ minutes to come out…everything else was amazing!

This place is a cool atmosphere if that is all you are looking for. We came here for breakfast. We were trying to go to Patrona cafe but the way the overflow parking is set up, it’s really confusing and we thought we were in the right spot but it turned out we were not. We didn’t realize until it was too late so make sure you’re in the right place! The breakfast menu is super limited and most options contain coconut. The coconut pancake was actually very tasty but most of the food we got was just fine, nothing that blew us away and not worth the price of plate.

Aaron was an excellent server! Great food with tropical flare! We ate lunch with our toes in the sand, right on the water! Great Florida place!

This was my second time going to The Getaway and I was not in the best of spirits but my friend invited me back to grab some food and take in the views. She also has been to the Restaurant many times since she lives just a few blocks away. As we sat down the male server greeted us and advised my friend that we need to leave a card on tab before we order a meal. I was just finishing up on a call and asked the server whether he made a mistake cause we weren’t ordering any alcohol. He said that this was policy. I’ve been to hundreds of restaurants and never was asked to leave a credit card before ordering unless it was some type of kiosk to order. This seemed discriminatory in nature to say the least. Needless to say we left without ordering and I won’t be revisiting this establishment anytime soon. I felt insulted and disrespected. What was meant to be a good gesture by a friend turned out to be a distasteful experience. I would advise all venturing to this establishment to be weary!

I am not happy! Visited this restaurant because I usually love the vibe and the calm beach setting 5 min from house. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed by their supposed new policy of asking for a credit card upfront to hold on file before we even ordered. I found this disrespectful and out of line, especially since we weren’t ordering any alcohol. Just a heads-up to others who might feel the same way. I have never stole anything in my life and I don’t like the pre-judgment It is not ethical professional for a restaurant to have that type of policy.

Had amazing food but service was mediocre at best. We had to find someone to even pay our bill. We were never asked if we wanted anything else or another drink or water refilled. Bartender finally cashed us out. Never saw our server again but there were 5 people standing around. Guess we should have asked for Aaron like another reviewer said.

A tucked away little spot. On the water. 1st stop from the highway. Island vibe. Tiki bar, and sand in your feet. Affordable food and drinks with a happy hour. Don't be in a hurry but a great place to sit back for a bit.

Beautiful place right on the water. It has a wonderful tropical feel with lots of trees, palm trees, and birds. Our table was on the sand. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. The grouper fish bowl and fish tacos were tasty. Will definitely go again.

The name says it all, get away before you waste money! The place has a bird problem, they initially sat my wife and I at a table on the beach. The table was below an overhang and a tree, it seemed nice. But shortly after the hostess left, I started hearing small plopping noises. The area they sat us in was a war zone, bird poop fell upon us and one hit us, at that point we moved tables. After moving tables I watched the table continuously get pooped on and cleaned by wait staff while it sat empty. So they know it’s a problem table (it’s the first table when walking onto the beach under a tree and the overhang, can’t miss it).

I wish I could say it got better after that, but the service was cold and we saw our server 2 times between being re-sat at her table. The 3rd time to cash out we had to ask for her after our plates had been empty almost 30 mins. Then this place tacks on a 5% service fee. Why? I understand for large parties, but a party of 2? Raise the prices instead, typically my 1 star reviews are due to service fees, which are rare, this place added on with bird poop.

Driven past this place many times and decided to try it today.

So the restaurant is cute and looks busy every time we pass but after dining there I can’t understand why it’s always busy looking.

First we were seated on the beach which we were excited about. But we were basically seated in a tree… with birds pooping all around us- then on us. We asked for a new table and had to change servers. The birds were squawking, pooping, and the Spanish music playing was very overstimulating.

The second server had two other tables- both of which were well tended to. But us, not so much. After saying we need a couple minutes to look at the menu it took twenty minutes to get her back. We ordered and the food came out at a decent time by a food runner. The food itself wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. After finishing the meal we waited for over 25 minutes with our empty plates in front of us before anyone visited our table again. Another server filled up our water and we asked for our server so we could cash out. During those 25 minutes the waitress tended her two other tables and wouldn’t even look at us. When she arrived to give us a bill she was agitated and pointed at our plates to hand them to her. We paid via QR code and left, also they add on a 5% service fee, but I ask, what service?

I could have gotten over the birds (as they are mostly out of their control) and the loud music. But the service pushed me over the edge and we will not be back.
