Been here a few times. Different times of the day. Sat some place different every time. Always, Poor service at the tables. If you come at an off time and sit at the bar, it can be enjoyable. Mostly people come here because of the view.

Absolutely beautiful place! Family friendly with a relaxed atmosphere.Kid-friendliness: Small beach area for kids to play while the adults can relax and chat.

Grouper? NOPE! Absolutely PHONY PHISH. As a local, I invited a co-worker to join me down the street from my house for a nice lunch on the water at The Getaway on Monday April 29, 2024.All was well...until the $26 blackened "grouper" sandwich I ordered, arrived at my table.First...that was the skinniest grouper I have ever seen. I have caught grouper, I know what grouper fillets look like. I know what they taste like. That wasn't grouper. Maybe an under-cooked redfish fillet?Second, in order to make it the same texture as grouper they had to under-cook it so it wouldn't be dry and flaky. So it was one shade lighter than pink. Basically raw. Oh...and cold. So I asked the server to send it back to the grill for a couple more minutes. No problem, rIght?...Ha!! the sandwich came back HALF THE SIZE it was before I sent it back. So now I had maybe 2 ounces of skinny fake grouper on a bun.I didn't want to embarrass anyone so...I ate the fries and hid the skimpy fish under the lettuce.Stay AWAY from the GETAWAY.

The Getaway St. Pete: A Mixed ExperienceThe Getaway, nestled along the waterfront, offers scenic views and a relaxed atmosphere. However, my recent visit left me with mixed feelings.Drinks and Cocktails: The drinks were decent, but the absence of happy hour prices was disappointing. Each cocktail set me back $13.Food Quality: Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the picturesque setting. Our party of six encountered some disappointments:Taco Salad with Beef: This dish was extremely greasy and far from enjoyable.Hamburger with Pork: Bland and lacking flavor.French Fries: Frozen and not freshly cut.Waterfront Views: On the bright side, the views of the water were truly delightful.Service: The service was average, falling short of any exceptional experience.Pricing: For an entrée and one cocktail, the bill averaged $50 per person, including tip.In summary, while The Getaway offers a beautiful location, the overall experience didn’t quite meet expectations. If you’re seeking ambiance and views, it’s worth a visit, but be prepared for the price tag.

The food was awful and expensive, waiter came to the table once in 90 minutes and expected me to tip 25% percent on disgusting food and no service. She also stood over my shoulder while I typed the tip in, super weird. The location is awesome and the breeze and water are a nice touch. Shame old drunks made it so people who aren't kids can't go in the water.Go there for drinks if you do go.

The views are absolutely gorgeous, but the food left a lot to be desired. You’re definitely paying for the views here. The kids popcorn shrimp was the best thing we tried.

From the street, I questioned if were in the correct location. Sure enough winding down the path there it was. Laid back, being from the Midwest it was picture of Jimmy Buffett. Thatched roof, open air, sand, water, boats, tropical flora. Lots of Happy People. Reasonably priced Food and Drink, amazing service, So many menu options Brunch. Could have spent the entire day there!

We went for brunch on a Sunday late morning. Mistake. Nevermind the parking lot a complete disaster with everyone trying to get access to the beach the restaurant itself is beyond underwhelming. We ordered mimosas right away and I had three of them spilled on me by our waitress. Ok, accidents happen but what do you think protocol should be for soaking a patron in orange juice? Whoops, sorry, let me take that drink off your bill? Anyone? Anything? Nope. Then 3 of the 5 meals we ordered came out wrong. And it only took 45 minutes to get out food! Wow... Save your money and your time and go somewhere else.
