Basin Seafood Market & Kitchen

I have placed both takeout and fresh seafood orders over the past three years, and today my $90 takeout was the worst yet…a whole belly clam dinner and a bay scallop basket were undercooked, oily, mushy and the battering fell off in the takeout containers. French fries are now smaller than they were and also undercooked. Fish and chips were a combination of overfried and underfried and oily. Hot lobster roll was okay but was a very small hot dog roll and the pieces were hard chunks. Coleslaw had no flavor, and the best part of the meal was the tartar sauce. In the past they have forgotten my sides with a boiled lobster dinner, were over 30 minutes later than they said, and my fresh fish purchases have grown exceedingly more expensive. I truly wanted to give this owner, who I have multiple conversations with, the benefit of the doubt and I kept trying it to give back to a local business. Unfortunately, after spending this much money for dinner and not eating most of it… I am beyond recommending/visiting this seafood market.

Fresh delicious yellowtail and stone crabs!

Traveled for 45 minutes and they closed the kitchen early. Not doing what was promised which was all you can eat blue crabs before 9. The place smelled atrocious The waitress went outside to vape before taking our order. Once we left they offered more blue crabs to our associates that were already eating yet they said they had no more

You don’t go here for the atmosphere, but the seafood is as fresh and delicious as you’ll find anywhere, mostly locally caught that day! The fresh blue crabs are equal or better than Maryland and more reasonably priced.

Ordered the lobster roll and my husband had fish and chips. Both were excellent! Nice selection of fresh seafood in the market. We took home sea scallops and sheepshead to enjoy at another time. Highly recommended!

I was so disappointed 09/08/2024- we order the all you can eat crabs and we could only get one good crabs out of all the ones we ate. They were disgusting no meat and mushy at the same time. All the waiter could say is I am sorry, she saw that every crab that was open was rotten. and did not offered any solutions, but the manager is not around to refund you the money for the crabs. I should have followed the last review that was on their page about the crabs, I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but I should have went with the person review. Update: I called and spoke with the manager and he is absolutely the person a last viewer talked about when he said the guy is rude and nasty. He took know ownership of the situation and he is disgusting human being. He actually told me I should not have eaten them.

It is rare for my wife and I to write a bad review; however, in this case we are making an exception. We just got off the phone with one of the nastiest “managers” of a business that I have ever experienced - absolutely no effort to address a legitimate concern. Customer service much? NOT AT ALL!

We ordered two orders of the all-you-can-eat blue crabs. My God! They were so mushy that the wait staff brought out more in an attempt to get one good tray of crabs. She was apologetic, but said that the manager was not available to address the issue. So, we called while on our way home.

The condescending tone of this so-called manager was defensive, ultimately turning nasty as we attempted to share our concern. He sounded angry. We didn’t ask for our money back, just wanted to share our disappointment with the meals. BUYERS BE ADVISED!
