Had a horrible experience here and it’s actually never happened to me before. We ordered our appetizer, got it, and then proceeded to wait 40 minutes after that (without ordering yet) because our server did not return to take our order. Very disappointed because our appetizer was really good and this place was recccommended to us by a friend.

It was a beautiful afternoon so we chose to eat outside for our first time here. We had both the Fried Shrimp plate and Blackened Shrimp Basin Island Bowl...both were very good and plenty to eat! The hush puppies were delicious...especially with the sauce served with them. And live entertainment on a Saturday afternoon was a nice added touch too. Our server, Flo, made sure that we were enjoying our meals and we assured her that we would be back.

My boyfriend and I ate here last night Saturday March 16th. We were there about 8pm. We've ordered to go before and had excellent fried shrimp & fries. This time we dined in. Flo was our server and she was so nice and awesome. My bf had fried Mahi with fries which was great. I had the crab cakes w/ Hushpuppies and Veg.(Zucchini and squash). I ate half of my meal and took the rest home. The crab cake I ate while there had a few shell pieces in it.. it happens. No big deal. The 2nd crab cake that I ate later at home was filled with shell pieces. If I had eaten that one while dining there I would've brought it up. I couldn't eat the 2nd crab cake because it had so many shell pieces in it. Might want to retrain the guy who's making the crab cakes? We'll be back but not for the crab cakes. The hushpuppies and veg were amazing. Wish I got the fried shrimp instead.

I used to come and get here regularly, the owner used to be very friendly and due to my work schedule, I finished up after the market closed around 7pm. If he was there, he would help me due to my schedule, I greatly appreciated it.However, one day I came in as usual, the owner seem to be in a foul mood. He greeted me grumpy, not asking how I was doing, but just by saying “what do you want?”I smiled, asked him how he was doing, and then asked if I could get some fish, I’ve been in plenty times and knew he recognized me. He said “market is closed” in a very rude tone.I tried to say hey, but in the past … before I can finish my sentence, he cut me off again, and said market is closed slammed his book shut and walked into the back.I love supporting local business and I loved getting fish here, but after being treated rudely and disrespectfully like that I’m sorry I’m just not gonna come back

I just stopped by to eat some fresh oysters, and yes... they were fresh. On this occasion, they did have horseradish, which is a plus. The last time i came here, they didn't have any.Service is still not very good, and beer was warm ?.

Waitress was nice. Other then that avoid at all costs. My husband and I ate the same thing and got food poisoning from here.Sure, is response back to you we dined there March 1st 2024. We shared a fish dip and steamed clams and both got Mahi Mahi. The place is dirty and the smell inside is not of fresh seafood. Against our better judgment (we were in a time crunch ) we ate lunch. We were both overcome with extreme stomach pain and in the bathroom after that lunch for the rest of the evening. That was my husbands first meal of the day. When you know food poisoning you know it. We believe it was the fish dip as we pondered back at the consistency. Please improve your sanitation and food handling practices before someone gets extremely sick. I write this review in complete honesty and in the hopes someone else does not get sick.

Adorable little place. Not too fancy, just super chill - outdoor tables and lights. (Actually loved watching the trains go by)The food was good with so many options. The lobster bisque was outstanding. Can't wait to go again and try different things, especially the swordfish!!Loved our waitress. And I'll have to remember the fish market for dinners at home!!

We have been going to Stuart for years and just found this little gem! You’re literally sitting in a seafood market but there is also seating outside. The food was amazing, we live on the coast of NC so we know good seafood. The fried oysters were as good as I’ve ever had, the steamed crab was yummy, and the shrimp was amazing as well, everything down to the slaw was top notch. We will go back, A LOT… And to top it off Amanda from Alabama, our server, was as good as it gets. Might not be the fanciest, but the food definitely is! Well worth your visit.

Basin says it's a seafood market but it's a definitely a restaurant also and it's very good. We sat outside on an evening at a picnic'y table for two. Our waitress was sweet and efficient. Tonight they had an AYCE steamed blue crab special, but we weren't ready for pick in' and ordered off the regular menu. My Grouper Reuben w/ fries was great as was the cod, shrimp and crab cake platter /w fries and coleslaw very good for my companion. Prices are solid for seafood. Parking is free and decent enough, might get tricky on a busy weekend. I'll definitely return and be eyeing those blue crabs for next time. Thanks!

We found this little gem a few days before we left Stuart, we ended up eating there two nights in a row. We live on the coast of North Carolina so we know good seafood, the fried oysters were as good as I've ever had, the shrimp was amazing, and the steamed crab was just too good. It's not the fanciest place, you're literally eating in a seafood market, but there is also seating outside, it's quite quaint... Our server, Amanda was the best, I felt like I'd known her for years! If you just want good food down to the slaw, this is your spot.
