Group of us arrived as soon as they open. We were seated quickly. Our drinks and orders were taken right away. Our meals were served in a timely fashion and were tasty. Would definitely go there again!

My cousin took me to Shrimpers for lunch where I had my first taste of Grouper. Shrimpers Grill and Raw Bar makes a fantastic Grouper Ruben sandwich. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere is extremely casual and laid-back. I really enjoyed the couple of hours. My cousin and I spent there having a wonderful lunch! If you're in. Stuart, give Shrimpers a try.

Review of Shrimps Grill – A Dangerous Dining Experience

If you want to risk your health on bad oysters, this is the place to do it. I went to Shrimps Grill expecting a fresh seafood meal and ended up with one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Stuart. By the time I got home, my stomach was on fire, and I knew exactly why — the oysters they served were not just disappointing, they were dangerous.

When the plate first arrived, I noticed something was off. The oysters had a strong smell, not the briny freshness you expect from seafood that’s been handled properly. The texture was slimy and unpleasant, and the taste was sharp in the wrong way. I stopped eating after only a few bites because they were clearly bad. At the time, I didn’t say anything to the staff. I thought maybe I was being too critical, and I didn’t want to make a scene. That was a mistake. By the time I got home, the reality set in. My stomach was burning, and I was sick for hours. These were not just poorly prepared oysters — they were unsafe.

What makes this worse is that seafood safety is not optional. It’s not about a dish being “off” or “not to my taste.” With oysters, shrimp, and fish, freshness and handling are everything. One slip in the chain of care — whether in storage, preparation, or cooking — can make someone seriously ill. At Shrimps Grill, that basic responsibility seems to be ignored.

I didn’t tell them at the time, but I’m telling them now: serving bad oysters to customers is unacceptable. A restaurant that specializes in seafood should know better. This isn’t just about one bad meal, it’s about the health of everyone who walks through their doors.

The worst part is the disregard for locals. In Stuart, restaurants survive because of the community. Tourists may come and go, but locals return week after week, month after month. If you can’t trust a seafood restaurant in your own town, where can you go? When a place treats locals like they don’t matter — by serving food that could poison them — it’s a betrayal of that trust.

Stuart has a proud reputation as part of the Treasure Coast, a place where seafood should shine. There are so many restaurants here that get it right — fresh, safe, well-prepared meals that reflect the quality of our waters. Shrimps Grill, unfortunately, is not one of them. Until they take food safety seriously, they should not be serving oysters, shrimp, or anything else that requires careful handling.

I will not be going back. And to fellow locals and visitors, I strongly advise against risking your health here. A night out should never end with a stomach on fire, and no restaurant should put its customers in that position.

Final Verdict: Shrimps Grill failed on the most basic level — serving safe food. Bad oysters made me sick, and their disregard for quality is a danger to anyone who eats there. Stuart deserves better.

I was very disappointed with Shrimpers. I ordered an Old Fashioned bourbon drink, which was watery and tasteless. Also, their online menu differed from their on-site menu. Since they didn't have jambalaya, which was on their online menu, I ordered scampi. The sauce was very watery and I couldn't taste any seasoning in the shrimp or sauce. The noodles were OK, but overall, the meal was very disappointed. My wife ordered the blackened dolphin, which a mixture of good flavor and way too overcooked. She wouldn't order the meal again.
While the food was disappointing, the environment and service were excellent.

I travel a lot for business as a boat dealer/Yacht broker.I was in Stuart on business and went to Shrimper‘s for lunch. I was totally impressed by the menu, which had a lot of healthy options to choose from, and they were super kind about making changes to accommodate my diet. I had the Grilled grouper, double order of the green beans, and an Arnold Palmer on the sidea perfect meal for a Fitness freak like me! I wish I could remember my waitresses name. She was awesome. I highly recommend it. ❤️ Kim Sweers, THE BOAT BOSS

Our fish was cocked perfect, we loved it. The calamari also was delicious, fresh cook. We had Tito’s bloody merry and I have to say that drink was strong and good. For desert we had chocolate mousse, for that one, it was ok not my favorite of all the food. The day was beautiful with rain and we enjoyed being out seeing the boats passing by.

I went there for the first time to celebrate a birthday from my husband, recommended by a family that has been coming here for many years! I was simply welcomed very well and the waitress was quick to offer to change my dish if I didn't like the conch chowder. We were very well received, the food was simply perfect and the idea of making the shrimp trio was excellent (I would suggest including the fourth type of shrimp for a more complete experience). It was a very good dinner and I haven't seen a restaurant like Shrimpers in a long time living here in the US! I will be back many, many times.

Parking: Easy to stop and very close to the door!
