Pretty big food store with take out. Has a bunch of tables outside so one can eat or enjoy the coffee. Fruits, vegetables etc. Specializes in Russian and Eastern European food. Big selection of cold cuts, smoked fish and caviar. Also, has Israeli and Turkish products. A little pricey but it’s sunny isles.

I want to say a big thank you to Matreshka, especially to Larisa, the cook working at the open kitchen/bar area. She is absolutely amazing — always friendly, polite, and welcoming. The food is always fresh and delicious, and you can really feel the care she puts into everything she makes. In my opinion, she is the best, truly number one. It is always a pleasure to come here. Highly recommend! ✨

I honestly feel bad giving only 2 stars, because I genuinely love coming here - I always enjoy the food and I love buying all the amazing products from the CIS. This has always been one of my favorite places.
But today I had an absolutely terrible experience, something I haven’t encountered in almost 20 years, not since before I lived in the U.S.
The young man who was making the blinchiki today was extremely rude. Not only did he speak disrespectfully, but he even insulted the sauce I chose - saying it was “bad” - and he himself suggested replacing it when I ordered a salmon blinchik.
In the end, he gave me a blinchik with chicken, which I absolutely do not eat. When I asked him to replace it with salmon (the one I ordered), he suddenly demanded a receipt, even though I had literally just ordered it from him. He never gave me a receipt in the first place, and his tone was very dismissive and unprofessional.
I eventually had to ask for a manager.
I told him I would be leaving a review, and he said, “I don’t care, I won’t be here next week anyway.”
This is incredibly disappointing, because I truly love this place - but what happened today was unacceptable.
