Three couples ate here on Thursday evening. I had had a good experience in the past but this early evening was deserted except for the wait staff. The bar was out of two draft beers listed on the menu. Two people ordered the Key West salad. One had to send it back because they are not meat eaters and it contained sliced steak (excellent) which is not mentioned on the menu. The other meals arrived lukewarm to cold. Personally I don’t care for cold French fries. Otherwise the food was okay. Our waitress was adequate to disinterested, definitely not friendly. The manager at least was concerned and several times asked how everything was. Sorry to see this decline.
Our past experiences have usually been exceptional. Chef Joseph has been incredible; he even took our kids for a tour of the kitchen. We always felt lucky to have Tin Fish in our own backyard. However, this time the atmosphere was very different. The restaurant was simply less inviting. We noticed this from the moment we walked in. The lights were dimmer, the music had a different vibe and the place was empty. My wife ordered her usual Sauvignon Blanc. It was no longer available. There were only house wine and chardonnay options given. Like I said, the atmosphere was off. We considered going elsewhere, but our previous experiences had been so good. The server convinced us to buy a bottle of wine from the place next door and pay a corkage fee ($15) to get the wine my wife was used to. I had to settle for my third choice of IPA because the front tap system wasn't working. There was no Cigar City tonight for me. Again, we decided to stick it out because of our previous experience. Unfortunately the food was off tonight too. We asked our son how his nuggets were and he said that they tasted like a burger. A burger? Sure enough, his nuggets had a burger flavor to them. Where they deep frying burgers and getting the flavor in thier fryers? We sent the nuggets back. The cornbread came out late as they forgot to ring it in. If you've had the cornbread here you know its top notch. Not this time though, there was no jalapenos in it anymore and it tasted more like cake batter than cornbread. Another dissapointment. I got the fish taco. Always fantastic with the best slaw in the neighborhood. Again....not this time. The slaw recipe had been tweeked. Less of a vineger base and now had a mayo base added to it. I kept thinking, what's going on here? Then I really started to look around. There were pictures missing from the wall. Notably Chef Joeseph was no longer represented. I finally got the attention of the hostess who was sitting at the front door the whole time on her phone. I asked if Chef was still involved with the restaurant. Her response said it all. 'Everything is the same but he sold the restaurant' It all started to make sence. We should have trusted our initial gut instinct and left from the get go. Tin Fish Sunrise appears to have the same menu and presentation but the vibe and service is very different. No longer are you greeted with big smiles. No more first name basis with the staff. No more personal connections and big hugs from the chef. No longer do we feel so lucky to have such a great establishment in our back yard. Hopefully im wrong about all of it. Maybe Chef is still involved and he can right the ship. For now though, I guess we are going to have to go to Boca for that signature cornbread and cole slaw.
Best seafood restaurant I have been to in a long time. Fantastic menu.our server, Tiffany, was brilliant. We will be back many more times.
Didn't expect anything phenomenal but still left disappointed.
Lived across the street for 7 years and for some reason, never been here and I guess that was for good. Saw good reviews here but still didn't have any high expectations for the place. Unfortunately, even little expectations haven't been met.
Started pretty good, seated outside, placed an order. The owner of the place (according to him) came to our table to greet, said we should try samples of their appetizers and he will send it to us. And that's when the good start ended.
One of the items in our order got lost somewhere, and my 7-year-old son had no food until we reminded the waiter and got his dish when everyone else had already finished their meals. And instead of lightly breaded grouper that we ordered, they brought grilled grouper.
The biggest issue, though, was the whole snapper we ordered. Fish wasn't fried. Fish has been cremated. Extremely overcooked, very hard outside, very dry inside, and absolutely no flavor since no seasoning at all. And that was $64 for fish we didn't eat even quarter of. Very disappointing experience.
And BTW promised appetizer samples never made it us.
After we've paid the bill, I've asked one of the waitress ladies if I can chat to the owner, just wanted to give him a heads up (I am as business owner myself always eager to get direct feedback from my clients). But he never showed up.
Didn't want to argue with anyone since waiters were nice and it was late but won't be coming back and won't recommend ordering fried fish here.

If you like Dim Sum this is a great choice there were over 40 options. Not much description on the menu though. Peking duck was excellent and the beef and broccoli was outstanding. Very attentive service. Decor was like an eating Hall, just one large open room not broken up by booths or walls.

Food was pretty good. Went during happy hour. My happy hour drink wasn't that good. I asked for it to be doctored up and was given attitude from the server. Seemed like some of the workers were stressed and needed a small break. Overall, I would go back for a regular lunch or dinner sometime.
