This place was a godsend. I'm on Wegovy so I needed a high protein meal without all the greasy, fatty ingredients that usually come with a breakfast sandwich. I ordered a turkey, egg, and cheese sandwich on whole grain toast. It was amazing.

Love love love this coffee shop, but I only come here to have a place outside of my apartment to study and recently something must have changed with their wifi because I can’t access any websites including my canvas page while on the wifi here. Will have to start going somewhere else because I need a productive place to work.

We came here for coffee and breakfast both days we were in town. The coffee is consistently delicious, and the egg bowls are the most satisfying breakfast I've had at a coffee shop. I highly recommend the French toast sticks for an indulgent, sweet treat. We're so happy to have found Catalina Cafe during our stay.

I have not the pleasure to eat there. I drove my daughter and grandson to the airport. I was 4 hours away when I learned AA had canceled 5 times. I got her transport to a hotel, but no restaurant there. She and 2 year old had not eaten for 14 hours. Nobody would deliver and some just hung up on me because of my out-of-area number. Finally, an awesome lady from the Catalina Cafe stepped up and arranged food for my daughter and hungry grandson. Thank you Abby for going above and beyond when they were stranded in a foreign country and hungry. I hope they know the value you bring to their cafe. Also, they said the food was great.

I never write reviews but this place has the best chai latte everrrrrrr. I got it warm and it was genuinely amazing by itself. The workers were also very nice and made the drinks quickly.

The people who work at Catalina are very kind. They are one of the few spots around town committed to making their own syrups. They have a great indoor and outdoor space, and I’ve never had trouble finding parking. All prices are reasonable and the food is fresh and good. Checks all the boxes you’d want out of your local coffee shop.

I originally posted this review 4 years ago, and I would like to update it as of October 29th, 2025. In summary, I still absolutely LOVE Catalina Cafe! This cafe has been with me throughout my entire undergraduate journey at Florida State University, and it holds a very sentimental/special place in my heart. :)
Catalina Cafe has been a location in Tallahassee FL that I frequent for many years. I first came by to check out their numerous specialty lattes, including the Caramel Vanilla latte with house-made syrups. Their coffee options are plentiful and each choice is well-made, tasty, and fairly priced. The iced drinks have a 16oz and 24oz choice, with the 24oz being my go-to for fueling long study days. Don't forget about their rotating seasonal choices - they are beyond good!
The food choices are equally impressive. One of my absolute favorites is the Spicy Egg Avocado Sandwich that features spicy mayo. Food is made hot, fresh, and to-order. The quality is consistently great and the prices are comparable to similar cafes. Even an item as simple as a bagel with cream cheese is prepared well and a great choice for any customer who desires one!
My reason for coming back, besides the delicious food and drinks, is the incredible people who work here. Often you will interact with college students, as it is in the College Town area of Tallahassee. Every person I have met who works here is beyond kind, caring, and approachable. The managers/bosses of this cafe are dedicated to customer service, ensuring that the preferences of each customer are met at a high quality. I have had numerous positive experiences with the staff here and they are all helpful and work hard to deliver a welcoming environment for each customer. You can't help but want to come back and experience it again!
Thank you to those at Catalina Cafe who have created such a special place, and maintain it well. My mornings and early afternoons here will always be appreciated and cherished deeply! <3
We were looking for a quick bite and some coffee and stumbled on this place. Apparently, the coffee was phenomenal. My boyfriend kept raving on how incredibly good his cup of black coffee was. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches that were good. My only complaint would be that upon paying, the cashier said she'll bring our food since we decided to sit outside. She brought the coffee but they totally forgot about our food. After realizing how long we were waiting, I went inside to follow up and a different cashier was there and gave us our food which means someone wasn't communicating. Not a huge deal though.
