This is a business that has made it in spite of itself. (Both the downtown and Southwood locations) The customer service is awful, and the food is not good. The employees have attitudes, and they treat you like you're a bother. The Southwood location is the worst. Most people only go there because it's convenient if you work in the area. Very high on my list of restaurants to never spend my money.

Grits today were old and the sausage, rude employees. And how you have a restaurant that serving FOOD and you are out of butter. I ask the question and you would think i curse them out the nasty response I received back. I have decide this year I will not patronize to BLACK business that treat me this way. I will never go back.

Love the concept, never really been impressed by the food. It’s awesome because they are one of the few locally owned restaurants in the area that they are In. They have pretty good cake as well.

I gave both the breakfast and lunch items a try before reviewing but neither time has their food hit the spot. The breakfast was ok but pretty small portions. The baked Turkey wings were bland as well as the macaroni and cheese. Also the pricing on their website is wrong so I payed more than I expected due to the website not being up to date. All in all I will not be returning.

Early's kithchen is a cafeteria style restaraunt, the entrees are already prepared and you simply chose what you want to eat. That being said the food is great I really enjoy the breakfast, I stop in about once a week and get eggs, grits, bacon and a coffee. The people are super nice and the place is always clean.

Wednesday & Thursday mornings is a must with grits, eggs, and sausage. The best and most satisfying meal on any day. Don't forget your blueberry muffin or a slice of cake.

Ok…I usually don’t leave reviews but had to say this! Normally I give any establishment the benefit of the doubt. The first time I came here I ordered fried chicken with 2 sides(which I girds is considered to be the 1meat 2 sides thing. I only received 1 chicken breast and no wing. When I went today they had no fried chicken and that’s what I wanted but they had what looked like fried chicken with some sort of hot sauce on it(hot chicken I suppose) but I was given 2 pieces of chicken. They need to specify when saying 1meat;especially with chicken rather it covers both pieces of white or both pieces of dark and the so-called hot chicken was bland
