I used to love coming to this restaurant. During my last visit my waiter kept telling us how the manager was rushing him and telling him not to talk to his tables too much. Then an unhoused man came into the restaurant and tried to stab our waiter in the neck. Then when the Tallahassee PD officer responded he came into the restaurant to pee and left. No manager in sight, and mind you this is right next to where the new police headquarters is being built. You can't make this stuff up, stranger-than-fiction...

I have tried several of the El Jalisco restaurants, and this one is by far the best. I really appreciate that they bring you enough salsa bowls for everyone to have their own, and then the small carafes of salsa to fill them. You can double dip all you want 😂. The chips and salsa never ran out. I always order the steak burrito, and this was the first El Jalisco to properly season and char the steak. It was very good. Every other El Jalisco I have been to, the steak could have been ground beef, chicken, or pork, it all tasted the same. The service was excellent, and we were a party of eight with 6 separate checks. Everything was accurate and they didn't add in the tip, which was also appreciated. When a tip is automatically added, I never tip more, for the quality service we received, I tipped 30%. I will drive past the 2 other El Jaliscos and numerous other Mexican restaurants the next time we're wanting Mexican food to come here.
