Georgio's Fine Food and Spirits

This is the kind of place you appreciate when you find it. Real chef with real culinary skills, relaxed atmosphere & personable staff. The price point is deserved for the flavors you get & separates the experience from boring chain restaurants & the clientele they attract. Stumbled on the place while traveling for business, very nice & refreshing change of pace, definitely recommend.

We had a rehearsal dinner here and the food was amazing and the service was wonderful! Everyone had a great time. Excellent communication throughout. Highly recommend!

Until tonight, I have never left a zero tip anywhere. I have run restaurants, bars, and worked in food service for forty years.

The waiter greeted us with the rancid smell of wet cigarettes. Indicating that he hadn’t bothered to wash his hands.

Then tried to “educate” me on the finer points of “authentic” Cesar dressing being made with Anchovies…. (It’s fine to be authentic, it is not fine to surprise people with anchovies in a food that isn’t normally served with anchovies).

Then we were abandoned…

Our food was then served, other attendants then refreshed our drinks.

Our table was finally cleared by a bus boy, who pleasantly told me he would get our server.

One of the hostesses then came to our table to tell us the waiter was on the phone in the manager’s office. I thought he must be having a family emergency, so I chose not to ask for the manager…

After listening to our server talking to the hostesses and continuing to ignore my request for my check. I approached the desk and again asked for the check.

Turns out our waiter was the manager! He was busy doing manager things to prep for a busy weekend! I don’t know how a manager thinks it’s ok to abandon your tables, reek of cigarettes, or to think that a manager should be waiting tables to begin with!

Tonight was the first and last time I am walking into this place!

And I am under the impression that the response from the restaurant will be that of an angry child, that would be truly unfortunate. But that would explain my only experience in your establishment.

I went with my wife tonight the food was awsome but the service from Lauren was spectacular she was so sweet and so kind my steak was undercooked but she sent it back immediately and brought it back within minutes we had a great time next time we go we will absolutely want her as a server!

We stayed at a hotel behind the restaurant and were pleased to see stairs and a path making it easy to visit. First impressions of the atmosphere were upscale fine dining but with a dated decor. Staff dressed the part and were pleasant. Here’s the thing, we were anticipating that the food would be at that fine dining level based on looking at reviews and our first impression. It’s really hard to score the food because there were definitely some inconsistencies. We started with the arancini which had a great crust but under seasoned inside. The dressing on the Caesar salad tasted mayo based which was odd. Did not finish. We upgraded the soups to She-crab and Avgolemono. She-crab was mid and did not have any visible pieces of crab and the other was a chicken with broth and rice with lemon. The lemon was possibly artificial and was so sour it overtook the experience. Did not finish either and let the server know about the lemon experience. The mains we ordered were better but the Delmonico steak stole the show. Cooked to a medium which worked out perfectly with nicely rendered fat and seasoned very well. The chicken piccata was good and very tender but pasta accompaniment was bland. Veggies were undercooked.

As a person traveling, I would recommend maybe an app and then stick to the mains based on our experience. The soups and salad were not worth it. It’s unfortunate because a place with this history could benefit from cutting down how many options they have and focus on executing a slightly smaller menu perfectly while saving some money. I expect they have a regular customer base but rotating some of the options they may cut out as specials could keep them coming back.

What an amazing restaurant! The steak was cooked to perfection! The staff was very nice and they took great care of us. We came here for a special occasion and had the best time! We will be telling all of our friends!

Hard to rate a restaurant where you never get waited on. Booth behind me arrived after I did and were waited on and they had a great conversation. Wait staff walked by. Host walked by. No one even stopped and said they'd be right with me. I could have written a novella in the time I waited. I had a very nice dinner here last week but I guess that was a fluke. Upside I got seated immediately. Downside. Well there's that whole not. Getting. Waited. On.

I have to say that the Prime Rib is a little bit better than Outback Steakhouse on Raymond Diehl Rd. which I've previously declared the Best in Tallahassee. But for the substantially higher prices I would expect nothing less.

Everything about this awesome place is 5 stars!! Highly recommend :) As a Tallahassee native, I've been to this restaurant multiple times over the years and never had a bad experience. Most recently, I booked one of their private event spaces/rooms for my company holiday party. I had 22 guests and the whole event went absolutely swimmingly with no issues at all. When I first made the reservation a month in advance, I was put in contact with Taylor, the main event coordinator at Georgios, and he made sure that the process was as easy and smooth as possible for me and was fantastic with the communication with me! On the night of our party, we were assigned 2 servers to help take our orders and take care of my group overall - They were Skyler and Pat - and they did a terrific job hosting us and serving us and making sure my guests had a wonderful experience. Huge shout out to Taylor, Skyler, and Pat and a big thank you to Georgios for being so amazing!! 10/10 will be back soon!
