Food is always amazing & fresh. The chef is the best & he loves to communicate with his customers 10/10!
First time trying dishes prepared with fufu. We had fun sampling a few dishes and definitely gave us the want to discover more. They had run out of cheese for the zanzi pizza so we didn't get to try it, but they were willing to do what they could to try and make it without. The flavors were so different from dish to dish!
It's a nice place to check out, nothing special enough about it to make it a regular place.
Too lazy to update order time/door dash status. Couldn't get a hold of anyone over the phone. Very unprofessional.
Great, authentic food and the owner is very nice. Strongly recommended!
Wow wow! Terrific portion size, beautiful atmosphere attentive staff, wonderful guava drink. We will definitely be going back! You can tell these folks put their heart and soul into this food and the beautiful jewelry, clothes, and more in the gift shop up front! The menu is so detailed with descriptions of each dish, ingredients, and which area of Africa the dish originated from. Literally some of the best food I’ve ever had!
My rice was hard, and I wasn't able to eat it. The manager apologized and made it right.
so amazing…first time trying it and the plate was cleared in less than 5 minutes this place is 10/10
Tried Halisi Africa for the first time and was not disappointed. First of all, the restaurant is adorable and the staff was so friendly, informative, and helpful. It feels welcoming, romantic, warm, and inviting...like you walked into your favorite coffee shop, or book store, or speakeasy...but they just so happen to sell delicious African food there. Lol It feels as if you can do anything there, from a romantic date, to a girls' brunch, to a birthday dinner, or even just pop in by yourself with a book. But, the star of the show was still the food. It was so flavorful and delicious. You can tell that they use quality ingredients and really care about their food! You feel nourished and fulfilled when you finish eating. The ONLY thing I wish, is that the portions were larger. I ordered to go, so I'm not sure if the portions are larger if you dine in. But, I plan to return to find out. HIGHLY recommend.

So much to say , I travel for a lot different cities & states tasting African dishes. I googled this place and went to try it out . I arrived at 12:40 didn’t leave until 2:30pm. They gave our order to another table took over a hour making our order on top of that the food we initially ordered they ran out of beef after 30 minutes of opening time so we had to change what we initially ordered to something else . This food is not AFRICAN TRADITION, it’s more Haitian / American . The goat was over seasoned tasted like a Haitian meal and the egusi soup tasted like tomato soup which the real egusi soup base is tomato but the egusi they serve does not have African ingredients. The egusi was very watery the onions in it was raw/ the fufu ahh , is horrible it was cold and tasted old. The waitress apologized several times I stayed in hopes the food will make up
For the mistakes but the food just made the experience worse . She came with the bill I asked her was it something they can discount due to the bad experience and having to wait
Over a hour & 30 minutes and she said she’ll ask the manager came back the food was on the house. I am grateful for that , but I would’ve loved some real African food I don’t mind paying whatever the amount is. The portion is small as well. I drove out of town to
Try this place. I’m not saying don’t go there , all I’m saying is that this is not a traditional
African restaurant the cook is not African and I don’t want people to be
misinformed. Other tables had mistakes as well , just need some improving . Go get a real experience with a real African restaurant the flavors is amazing. Far as the aesthetic goes it’s a cozy feeling nice music being played several items for sale in the boutique love the painting on the wall.

I and my friend had a delightful lunch here today. We both had the Selassie entree with chicken. As a special treat I had injera bread. It was as good as I remembered when I lived in Ethiopia. Dine here to give your taste buds a treat!

My husband and I had an amazing dinner and experience at Halisi last night. Enjoyed learning from the owner/chef about African diasporic cooking and was super happy with the Sankofa with jackfruit I ordered. It’s also refreshing to find a place that serves reasonable (not huge) dinner portions. Will be back!

It was a very nice experience. My husband and I went for a mid-day date, and we were pleased with everything: the food, service, and atmosphere. There was a cool vibe, from the boutique upon entry to the projected music videos delivering melodic tunes. I really enjoyed the authentic dining experience and the education from our hostess about the foods and best way to enjoy them. If you are looking to try African cuisine, this is a great option.
