It's a cute place and the food isn't bad, but it really isn't good either. The chicken on the chicken sandwich was dry and the bun was stale and cracked. The French dip tasted like the meat was cooked from frozen. Bartender was kind and drinks were good, the food just wasn't great.
My wife and I really enjoyed the seafood and the atmosphere of this restaurant. The outdoor seating had a beautiful view of the capital building and the white wine mussels were some of the best we've ever had. The cocktail options were also interesting and delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to come again.
We planned a dinner for over 20 guests FSU Parents Weekend (I'm from NY) 2024 and we were not disappointed! Everyone raved about the food. Toni (the events manager there) is an asset and we were all very happy we chose Hayward House to make our reservation!
