I don't come to Tallahassee often and when I do I struggle to find good food here.Izzy was an outlier. I ordered the spider roll and Tallahassee roll. Both were super fresh and tasty.I think my only complaints were, I think the eel sauce was a bit too much (also seemed too thick?)And i personally though the prices were quite high, 11$ for spider, and I think $18 for TallahasseeI'm used to $8 for spider and like $14 for a signature roll.All in all nice place

Walking into Izzy feels like walking into a Tokyo Izakaya. It's cozy and intimate while still feeling a classy.The food is STUNNING (been several times, never been disappointed) and the atmosphere is perfect.But what really gets Izzy a 5-star in my opinion is their service and care. I have a soy allergy that often makes eating at sushi/Asian fare restaurants difficult, as it really limits the menu (I still like sushi though).I have never had staff care and take as much time to ensure there is no cross contamination as Izzy does.Every time I go to Izzy's, the staff check and doublecheck ingredient lists, walk me through what menu items don't have my allergen, and make sure everyone involved is aware of the allergy risk.They really go above and beyond.It means a lot. Five stars for Izzy forever.

This place reminds me of a good Izakaya style Japanese bar! Menu isn't extensive but what they make, they make very well! Great sake and craft beer selection too!Every few months they have a 7-10 course tasting menu too with the chef that's reservation only and VERY worth it!!

Recently went to Izzy, I love sushi and it’s one of my favorite foods. We got edamame, miso soup, and sushi. My roll was good, I liked it but I felt like for the portion and serving size the prices were above most other sushi spots near by. The miso soup & edamame was very bland and I wouldn’t reorder it. Overall the sushi was good, everything else was very mediocre. Very quiet spot, we were the only customers there the night we went. Good place to try once.
Must recommend the Omakase experience if you have the opportunity. Chef has sourced some truly special ingredients that you just don't see very often, if at all, in this part of the world. It is an intimate and intentional dining experience that Tallahassee deserves.

If you're in Tallahassee and love Sushi the way we do, Izzy Pub & Sushi is a must. Try the "Trust Me" roll! You won't be disappointed! The food and service are both amazing!@

Amazing place. Visit here few times a year when we come down from Oklahoma . Trust me rolls are always a hit.
The food is exceptional! The service is dismal. It is a modern day *Seinfeld Soup Kitchen* We arrived at 7:30 pm and were served dinner at 9:30 pm. We put in our appetizer and dinner order at 7:45 pm as soon as the waiter greeted us. They are understaffed with 1 server and 1 sushi chef. There is a manager, who was more than capable to help in any role, pointed and said he was busy instead of jumping in to help. We were the last ones to be served. The food was incredible (and almost worth suffering through the ill tempered waiter and manager). I suspect Izzy’s needs an additional server and the manager should attend a class on customer service skills. The customer senses the vibe that the staff doesn’t want to be there and feels too important to wait on you.
