First time tonight and it as great! The drinks and food was 10/10!!! The server was spot on with everything that she recommended and I will be returning soon!

Pretty disappointed you know a restaurant has ours that they should keep what is posted we get there. We stand 30 minutes in line waiting for them to let us in then they take about 20 people ahead of us in the whole restaurant is like 80% empty and then they just tell us there’s gonna be a 30 minute wait after we’ve already been waiting out there for a while so a little disappointed with the way they run their business so anyway I guess we had to retreat over to Harry’s but pretty disappointed made a special trip all the way into town just to eat here and then don’t get the service. We’re expecting for all the hype about this place… not sure if we’ll try it again, but boy fills my restaurant. I would not do it quite like they do. I would open up early so that you don’t have a huge rush of people standing there waiting and blaming it on the storm which happened at 4 AM not at 10 AM this morning. I think they’re just having issues getting employees to come to work or something like that anyway not very happy..

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. We were initially told that there was an hour wait and then we doubled back and asked could we just sit at the bar and order food. They said yes, but the wait would still be the same .As soon as we sat down at the bar, four different groups of people were seated immediately. Mind you we got there at 1:40 PM and didn’t receive our food until 3 o’clock. We watched as the people that came in after us were seated, Serve their food and drinks , And eventually left . When I open my bag, my food was not in the bag, but my girlfriend’s was. I asked for a complementary drink because I had been waiting so long she told me I would have to be charged for it. I eventually just told them to cancel the whole order and to refund my money. I’m never coming back here.

Food has good potential but it took long to come out and it was room temperature as if it was sitting and didn't seem fresh. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pasta and the sauce was thick & noodles were cool, definitely had to be sitting. The music was enjoyable for awhile. The service however was terrible. The waitress we had was not attentive to our table however, she made time to go talk to the bartender. When we finally got our food we had no utensils and had to ask another waitress because our waitress made it back to the bar to talk. Had to ask for condiments, nothing was placed on the table to prepare for food consumption. She did not check in to see if we needed anything. My husband asked for refills her response was "Oh ok". Didn't ask how we were, if we needed anything or how the food was. There's room for improvement.

If I could, I would give the food 6 stars...absolutely delicious...it reminded me so much of the meals my Mama served when I was growing up. Everything was fresh, seasoned well, and hot. However, the service/wait time was unacceptable. When I spoke with the manager he cited a large party had all orders delayed. But while reading reviews I see wait times are an on going issue. I had a party of three and it was literally one hour from the time we were seated and placed our orders before we received our meals. Meanwhile, I see folks getting their food who were seated 15 - 30 minutes after my party was seated. I'm no restaurateur, but it seems to me the problem is a lack of efficiency. Efficiency can make or break a business...Jo Ellen's is in a great location, nice ambience, great music, and DELICIOUS food. They have to get the service/wait times right. I spoke with the manager to express my disappointment/grievances and he discounted our meals. The discount was unexpected but appreciated. The next time I'm in Tallahassee I want to try Jo Ellen's again and hopefully I will see improvement. I provided an overall rating of 2 due to the unacceptable service/wait time.

Food and drinks are delicious. Only downside is it takes a long time to get food. If you're not in a rush, you should definitely go.

Food was good customer service and wait time was horrible!! Stood at the door 15 minutes before we was seated then another 20 just for drinks plus 30 minutes to order our food and receive it just to get it completely wrong. Kids had their food 20 minutes before ours came out so they was aggravated and restless!!

Waited for a vegetable plate for one hour even though they were already made. Was told they ran out of corn muffins but saw some given to another plate a few minutes later. Small portions. Mac and cheese was only average.

Got there at 1 :30 waited 45 minutes for a table. Ordered drinks waited another 25 minutes. Finally got food and didn’t bring silverware. Had to go hunt someone to get silverware. Food decent but everything else deplorable. Don’t waste your time and money.

It was our first visit and our last. We went for breakfast. We were seated pretty quickly. The server came promptly to take our orders and bring the drinks. That was good. However, one hour later, that's all we got, drinks. The food was not ready, and we were told that it was still in the making. Long story short, we left that place for a nearby restaurant, and got served within 15 to 20 min.

My ratings:
Locations: 10/10
Room space: 7/10
Server service: 3/10 (no update about status of the orders unless you ask)

Went in today around noon, there was a crowd but there were still at least 6-7 tables unoccupied. The host told incoming guests (including me) there would be a 30 minute wait. One of the guest mentioned there were available tables visible. He said they still could not be seated because they didn’t have many waiters. The host then tries to walk away. We stop him & asked, are you going to take our phone numbers since the wait is over 30 minutes. He agrees & take down names and numbers. I wait in my car almost 45 minutes & never received a phone call. I walked back into the restaurant to see new guests being seated immediately. No explanation was provided. The host didn’t care. This should be addressed.

I dined in here with my friends on 1/17/24 around 6pm-7pm as an introduction to the Tallahassee food scene. I ordered the smothered pork chops, with sides of collared greens, and mac n cheese. The porkchop looked like it had been sitting in the gravy for a while as it was no longer crispy. Upon tasting, I noticed that the porkchops were not warm. I tasted the sides and they were okay. I informed the waitress , about my food and she apologized. She returned my plate and stated that they will fix it. I waited 15 minutes and she brought my plate in the same condition. She informed me that they “put my porkchops back on the stove so it should be hot enough”. In my time of food service, anytime a plate was brought back with half eaten food was immediately thrown away. I was disgusted to hear that the chefs put my half eaten food back on the stove to cook and gave me the same sides I returned (which became cold). At that point, I requested that I get a new plate of food. After another 15 minutes, she brought back a new plate. The food was hot and fresh; however, the food at that point didn’t meet any of my expectations. The porkchops were extremely salty and the sides again were neutral. I will not dine here again.
