Greta was a lovely server, and the food was delish! I got the maduros and black bean cakes for a nice and filling vegetarian lunch! I sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the buzz of the kitchen and flames from the stove. Great solo lunch vibe. Also, Sammy is whipping up those salads like nobody’s business!! 5 star every time I come

I’ve been to Kool Beanz Cafe several times over the years, but it had been a while since my last visit after moving away from Tallahassee. I came home this weekend to celebrate my 35th birthday, and I could not let the moment pass without sharing what an exceptional experience I had.
Our server, Mana, was by far one of the most pleasant people I have encountered. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine personality never missed a beat, which makes the next two acknowledgments even more mind blowing. While we were enjoying the fresh bread served before our meal, a young lady named Samantha stopped by and kindly asked if we would like olive oil for dipping. We did not ask, she simply noticed and offered. When she returned, she had thoughtfully warmed and seasoned the oil and attended to us as if we were her own table.
Then there was Ryan, the manager, who checked on us consistently throughout our time there. You would have thought we were VIP guests by the way the three of them treated us with such care and hospitality.
Now let’s talk about the food. Baby, the food was a solid 10 out of 10. My brother ordered the fried green tomatoes and the corn crab chowder as his meal, and I ordered the mahi with potatoes and green beans. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked with intention. It was simply an amazing meal from start to finish.
I have always enjoyed Kool Beanz and have never had a poor experience, but this visit was truly worth sharing. I do not know if there has been a change in management or what magic is happening behind the scenes, but whatever it is, please keep it up. I will absolutely be back.

Somewhat expensive, but 100% worth it. The rotating menu keeps us coming back, the service is consistently phenomenal, and the food is some of the best I've ever had. If you go one place in Tallahassee, it should be here!

When I lived in Tallahassee I ate here often and I'll probably do so again next time I'm in town, but on this trip I was disappointed by the food, which was delivered at a barely acceptable temperature. By the time we were finishing our lunch, it was cold.

We enjoyed the outside space for late lunch with family. Service was relaxed but worked for us and allowed us to visit. Food was Good and fresh but portions were smaller than expected for price paid. Parking is limited. Fun place and worth a visit!
Kool Beanz has to be the only place in town I’ve seen that can deliver amazing food with such exceptional service! I went there yesterday for an anniversary and they didn’t disappoint! I love the menu diversity along with how consistent they were with making their food (I saw other people order the Grilled Octopus and it was all plated the same). Fantastic work overall and I can’t wait to go there again!

We dined in around 7:30-close 11/22/25. The staff including our sweet waiter Mana were all amazing and that alone is a reason to go back. We had a baby with us and everyone was so kind and understanding (he knocked over some water). The food was great and came out at perfect times. You can tell the staff care about the experience their guests have. One of the other sweet foh staff helped us get some great family photos. The gentleman who I am assuming was the manager on duty was very hands on and attentive to guests. Kitchen seemed like a well oiled machine. Thank you so much for helping make our birthday dinner so special!

This is our favorite restaurant in Tallahassee. The food is excellent. The service is great. Space in the dining area is a little tight but that actually adds to the personality of the place. Ryan often serves us when we're there. He treats us like family which just makes us love the place even more.
