Another place in Tally we love taking our family too when they come to visit. I usually get the Pizza Chips as an appetizer (dunk one side in cheese, and the other side in sauce!) and then as my entree a PB&J burger, Cuban Cigar, or the S'More Than Words. I definitely prefer sitting in the inside/outside patio area in the rear but inside works just fine.

Midtown Caboose has a fun, creative, and delicious take on burgers! I ordered the Reagan and S'more than Words, and both were amazing. S'more than words was particularly notable, and the flavors mixed together so well!

However, I ordered their hushpuppies to-go once, and they were pretty dry and hard, and smaller than expected. This was the only time I have been disappointed by their food. Every other time has been great!

Definitely a Tallahassee staple, and I recommend everyone try Midtown Caboose at least once!

Fun, zany, tasty! The menu is huge and varied, if mostly burgers and wraps (the chili is also top-notch). Super out there styles of burger, which I look forward to trying more of.

I was so disappointed with pineapple chicken sandwich I ordered! They put a MASSIVE chunk of pineapple in the middle so the sandwich became soggy within 15 min. It was hard to bite into as well. I didn’t even order it with lettuce so I can’t imagine how much wetter it could’ve been. The cream cheese was disgusting. My side was also inedible. And mushy. Everything was just wet and mushy. The person with me said the same about their sandwich. We could not hear anything either.

Still one of our favorite spots in all of tallahassee. Not just a random burger restaurant. They take pride in their product, unique menu, and experience. The back patio is the only place you should sit. Bartender Dani is our favorite. Good pours, heaters for the cold, rear gravel parking lot. Same staff for years. Speaks volumes about the place. Just stop in you'll appreciate it!

I was SOO EXCITED to try this place and sadly- was pretty let down.

First - it's not fresh patties. I was told later by some locals that it's just frozen patties they reheat which is fine except they served it to me cold.

I am a big burger girl, and the burger I got was pretty good taste wise, but the patty was cold.

No one checked on me or asked how my meal was (my waitress was very sweet and I did had everything I needed- this is not a service complaint!). I wasn't looking for a discount but I also really wanted a warm burger on a cold day.

Check out NELSONS BURGERS- they have better burgers (served warm) better prices and the servers always make sure you're meal is what you expect.

Diverse and creative menu—everything our family ordered was a banger.

I enjoyed the Liberty Bell (burger meets Philly cheesesteak). The onions and peppers were sautéed with just the right amount of crunch still intact. The combination of meats was savory and delicious, though it could have used double the cheese.

I got a side of maple walnut dressing for the sweet potatoes, and it was one of the best flavor combinations I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend it to elevate your meal.

My wife started with the crab rangoon, which came out quickly as fried puffs of perfection. The accompanying jam had a little heat that perfectly complemented the sweetness.

My wife raved about the monkey cristo - sweet, savory, and toasted to perfection. She had it with the strawberry jam but the blueberry is also an amazing choice.

The kids devoured the caramelized apples and drank the sauce directly from the bowl. The grilled cheese was solid.

The menu is filled with such a diverse lineup that if I were a local, I’d want to explore every item.

The food is good, though a little expensive in my opinion. I really liked the atmosphere outside and want to try a burger so I will definitely be going back!

Midtown Caboose is a fun, locally loved spot that clearly knows how to do creative burgers and comfort food well. With thousands of reviews and a strong overall rating, it’s easy to see why this place is a go-to for locals and travelers passing through Tallahassee.

The menu is the star of the show. There are so many unique burger options that it almost forces repeat visits because narrowing it down to one choice is tough. From classics to adventurous picks like the PB&J burger, Shepherd’s Pie burger, S’mores-style creations, and specialty sandwiches, everything is bold and thoughtfully put together.

Sides like sweet potato fries, tater tots, onion rings, and appetizers such as pulled pork wontons and buffalo chicken dip are consistently praised and generally deliver on flavor and portion size.

The atmosphere is casual and inviting, with a playful train-themed décor that gives the restaurant personality without feeling gimmicky. Indoor seating is comfortable, and the large outdoor patio is a huge plus especially for those traveling with dogs or looking to relax with a drink. TVs, a full bar, and covered seating make it a great spot for lunch or a laid-back dinner.

Service is usually friendly and welcoming, and many servers are attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to offer menu recommendations. That said, during busy periods or weekends, wait times can be longer than expected, and some guests have experienced delays in food delivery or feeling a bit overlooked when the staff is overwhelmed.

Where Midtown Caboose loses a star is consistency. While the food is often excellent, there are occasional complaints about cleanliness particularly restrooms and operational issues like broken equipment or slower service. Pricing can also feel a bit high depending on what you order, though portions are generally generous enough to justify it for most guests.

Overall, Midtown Caboose is a solid 4-star restaurant with standout burgers, a creative menu, and a relaxed, local vibe. It’s not perfect, but when everything is running smoothly, it’s an enjoyable and memorable dining experience. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Tallahassee, especially if you love unique burgers and hearty comfort food.

Tried this restaurant for lunch while in Tally and overall our group was pleased and I can definitely recommend stopping here for a meal. The train theme is fun and the quality of the good was fine but I can't say I was wowed by my turkey wrap or tater tots. It was fresh and tasty but I think the presentation and amount of food could be increased. The tots were a bit overcooked. Our server was friendly but not overly engaging, and the restaurant was clean. I think with a bit more oomph and polish, this place could really be something cool.
