I ate here with a colleague sometime in the last year; we both enjoyed the distinctive, flavorful food. Returning to a hotel near Nefetari's this week, I chose to have dinner at Nefetari's two nights in a row. The first night, I had the Honey Eggplant dish with tofu: savory, complex complex flavors that continued to delight my tastebuds . . . and I'm not a big fan of eggplant as a rule. The second night, I had the coconut curry with lamb, with sides of grilled veggies...
6/2020 Update: they no longer maintain a restaurant since 2019. They now only do special events, venue rental, and catering. A real bummer but I can't blame them for wanting to slow down. It's just too bad!WOW! I can't say enough about this place. I bring out of town guests here often and go on special occasions as well. Nefetari's has a flair for Egypt and other places in Africa. You really get to savor tastes from Morocco to Ethiopia, even the Mediterranean....
Their vegan mac and cheese is unmatched. Rich, delicious food and friendly staff. It's tucked away in a little side-street and looks kind of small from the outside, but is actually huge and ornate on the inside. Always loved dining here when I lived in Tallahassee, and I hope to eat here again during my next visit.
