Really enjoyed the food and service here! Apps came in a little sushi boat and the volcano roll plate was literally on fire! The taste was not a let-down even considering the theatrics. Would go back 100%

Crowded place. Great sushi. Long wait. Did I mention it's extremely crowded.... Always concerned of people quite literally breathing on your food close.

2/2025 UPDATED
Wayne and his fellow chefs continue to make this the best sushi restaurant in Tallahassee. We tried two of this month’s specials, the Cupid and the Rose. Cupid won hands down. The Ryu (last month special) is still a fan favorite too. Fresh wasabi on top made each roll pop with additional flavor. Try the Kurosawa sake if a solo drinker or the Gekkeikan Black and Gold if wanting to share. Both sake’s pair well with the sushi.

This continues to be one of my favorite Tallahassee sushi places. We typically sit at the sushi bar and interact with chef Wayne <sp>. This time we tried Tuna Tango roll, (Fireworks roll - no), Ryu roll - favorite, Mango Tango, Tallahassee Roll. We substituted real crab instead of Kani in Fireworks and Tallahassee rolls. Black & Gold sake was crisp and dry with a slight mineral taste.

Better than average sushi and one of the waiters gave a great recommendation for a dry sake. Bonfire Roll was our favorite.

Beware! Management charged me for a soup I didn't order and then they fought the reverse payment with my bank! Food was mediocre and not fresh either. Don't waste your time or money here!

Sakura Japanese sushi and Grill has amazing sushi, an amazing array of delicious Japanese food. The atmosphere is dimly lit, the waiters and waitresses are very kind and attentive, and have big smiles and are dressed very sharply. Service is very good and the food is even better!

Kind of disappointed today. Usually have a nice experience. I ordered Veggie Udon with Tofu. The noodles were way off their mark in texture. Very tough and gummy. By the time the waiter finally came back around to us and I told him we were not willing to wait for him to fix it. My wife was nearly done with her meal. He offered to put the noodles "back in" for a little while longer. Not sure he knew how noodles work once they're mixed with sauce and veggies. The dish overall had very few veggies to be a veggie udon. A few mushrooms, plenty of onions, a few green onions and a few carrots, and that's it, besides the tofu. Holy smokes. Way overpriced! My wife's food was ok, shrimp hibachi. Flavor was nice but the shrimp were waaaay overcooked. She ate them anyway. Our veggie tempura was delicious and so was the miso soup and ginger dressing salad. Place was spotless. Overall the server was pretty lackluster. Not sure if we'll stop by again. There's a lot of places we can still try in Tally.

Not cool. This happened before about a year ago so I know the current girl I was talking to was lying about recently changing the menu. She is the one on the dinner shift head waitress or manager. There was a discrepancy between the total they were charging me and the total that's advertised on their menu on their website. She would not honor the lower price which reflected what they have posted as the menu price on their website. I paid and left but look at the menu and look at the prices. Do the math. I've provided the math.

What kind of business operation does that?? It's dirty business. To be fair, the food is good. Not going back

Food was pretty bussin except the fact the food description doesn't match food. This seems to be typical of asian restaurants I ordered the unagi don and it came with some kind of vegetable in it that was not mentioned in the description. Other then that food was good didn't take to long. This place can have 4 big booms. "Insert big justice doing his 4 booms."
