I recently dined last Sunday with a group of four. A few very disappointing items I would like to share. 1st the restaurant was out of butter, sour cream and bacon bits for their baked potatoes, also the soda machine was also not in service. Our food arrived; 3 out of the 4 plates all of the food was cold and the garlic toast was just toast. Server…. Initially she was great, friendly however, zero effort of information for items the restaurant was out of, and she was rather slow (water refills). Apparently a large group sat before us in our section and no other servers helped our server with that group. Final issue, she was wearing latex gloves from the kitchen that were greasy from handling food, then never removed to serve the food. I must ask what else was touched / handled a long with our food. I have eaten at that location many times, this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.

Management problems. Second time in a row they are out of Mild sauce. Plus they are also out of Mustard. Servers spread thin. She was pleasant but covered a huge area hustling best she could. Still took a long time to great me and never came back until long after I had finished and spent a long time waiting to pay.

I ordered curbside because I have a fractured ankle and had to go inside to get my order because they weren't paying attention. Come home to find that they forgot one of my sides and the barbeque sauce :/

I've been going to Sonny's all my life. It's changed a lot in the last 20 years. In a lot of ways I miss the old Sonny's BBQ. However the restaurant had to change with the times to survive.
When I was a kid, you had ribs, chicken, sliced pork, sliced beef, & garlic Texas toast, and a few side options. No mustard bbq sauce, no turkey, wings, brisket, pulled pork or pulled chicken.
Last night, I tried the sliced turkey (sort of dry, only ok) & smoked wings (very dry, maybe over cooked or maybe that's just how they come, just only ok. If the wings were juicey, then probably really good). Those are "new" menu items. The kids' chicken tenders were different, but they liked them. The price was reasonable. It was under $30 for the three of us.
Next time I plan to try the ribs.

All the meats for our orders were dry to include the dark meat chicken, ribs were hard to bite into and pull off the bone and Brisket was better but still dry. My wife and I were very disappointed with our order. We've never experienced this better,l and hated we did.

Ordered the pulled chicken on the garlic bread. The amount of chicken didnt even cover the bread. A very sad sized serving. Definitely not worth the money.
