Sunday morning 11/5, as the store opened, I stopped in for a house coffee to go and bought three stickers. The total was $11, and I tipped $1. Considering the stickers were in a basket marked $1 each, that cup of black house coffee cost me $8. It's pretty good coffee, but it's probably not worth $8. Did I get scammed by the cashier?Edited Nov 11, 2023:Confusion? No. Priced as $1 each at the point of purchase? Yes.I was clearly ripped off. Waiting for the manager to do the right thing, admit I was overcharged for the stickers, and offer me a $6 credit or refund.

Wonderful lowkey alt coffee place with an open nonjudgemental atmosphere that makes every customer feel like a cherished regular. Super affordable drinks from fancy coffee to mixed Italian soda. As a Tallahassee local it's nice to see places like this still exist in a town full of recent posh minimalistic soulesss gentrification. If you liked the vibe at All Saints off gaines that closed(bc rent gouging ?)this place has captured the essence Ive been missing since it's closing.

Relaxed and casual. My avocado toast was really good. Several things were crossed off the menu, I guess they were out of supplies to make it? This was a little disappointing, the food menu was very limited. Maybe I caught them on an off day? Most of the outdoor tables were full of people chatting or studying.

The Square Mug Cafe is in a little blue cottage at the main entrance to Tallahassee's Railroad Square art district.
The food is mostly breakfast-and-lunch fare, without _meat_ dishes: open-face veggie bagels with or without eggs or cheeses, carb snacks like muffins and cookies, a variety of coffees and teas, and a handful of types of beer.
It is filled with local art mainly displaying themes of womens' empowerment and inspiration, with the occasional esoteric or transcendentalist-style piece. Refreshing and delightful.
There are about 20 seats worth of indoor seating, and roughly again as many for outside seating, there's seating available on a shaded elevated deck on one side, and ground level patio seating on the other.
The clientele consists of many students pecking away at their laptops, to post-college Tallahasseeans, and a smattering of artists, Old Hippies, writers, and other interesting local folk.
Its place at the forefront of Railroad Square offers easy access to a wide array of shops and galleries comprising Tallahassee's Little Bohemia, the Railroad Square Arts district. This is some of the most concentrated local flavor Tallahassee has, all in a laid back, easy access, tree heavy and therefore beautiful, strollable environment, without any chain stores present, meaning all are local small businesses.
Vegetarian options: Many dishes contain no meat, but egg and chicken dishes are available, affordable, and delicious!
Parking: Approximately 30 parking places are adjacent to this eatery, and more available a short stroll away.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a usable ramp, but the terrain in general can be tricky for chairs.

This place has a weird smell and it was a bit dull inside however it is really cute and looks cozy. Me and my gf went here a couple days ago to study and we sat there for about 40-50 mins we didn’t buy anything to eat because it was a weird time of the day but we left soon anyway. A few days later, we went there again with starbucks and we felt really bad so we bought a couple stickers and art work to support them since again, we didn’t really want food and the only reason we got starbucks coffee was because we had a coupon that made it really cheap. Since we’re both college students, we obviously don’t have money laying around. We made our purchase right after getting there. It was the first thing we did and as soon as we sat down, the owner came up to us and really rudely told us to stop bringing starbucks coffee because it is very rude and disrespectful and did not give us a chance to speak or explain ourselves. And btw, the people sitting next to us had starbucks coffee as well. I understand that owners may get upset but I don’t know why she had to be so rude about it especially because we did make a purchase as soon as we got there and on top of that she was being so condescending too. It literally made me cry because I don’t know what we did to deserve that. She quite literally kicked us out and didn’t give us a chance to explain anything either.

Lovely coffee shop, the owner Donna is very sweet and involved in everything, every time I see her she is very busy. Great place for inexpensive food and drinks. They also have a free food pantry with free supplies and food for anyone in the community to use. Especially love sitting on the back porch and decompressing after a long day. Also love how full of art the space is!
Kid-friendliness: They have a corner in the back with a fun doll castle and other toys that keeps my kid nice a busy while I enjoy a rest and they also have a changing table in the bathroom!

Delicious coffee, good prices, nice atmosphere, and always a welcoming experience thanks to the nice people that work here. Definitely my favorite coffee shop.In fact, while seated outside, I witnessed two young lizards eat an earthworm. What a show. Not sure if it was a choreographed event, or just nature taking place, but I wouldn’t put it past square mug. Really, give it a shot.
