No shakes, cold burger, almost nonexistent fries, made me feel sick. Only redeeming quality was that it didn't taste awful.

Terrible Food and even worse service. The food was subpar, very poor quality fast food, not the Steak & Shake I remember. Obviously they have had to cut major corners. That is even more apparent when you interact with the staff. Very poor management, no concern for customer service or even a hint of hospitality. My suggestion, cross over the interstate and go to Five Guy’s.

Most steak n shake's I go to have decent, hot food. Also, they're always uniform everywhere I go - the burgers are always the same. This spot was different. Burger was cold and terrible. Not much else to say.

Shake machine is rarely working and when I asked for a grilled cheese I got a Frisco melt 3 times before I finally got a grilled cheese. This was when I specified grilled cheese no meat. I also watched a worker make themself a milkshake before making the one I bought

I had to get some food, but wanted to sit in air conditioning and wanted something better than McDonald's, but still relatively quick. I don't think that I have eaten at one of these since the 90s and thought it would be perfect. Walked in and found that most of the restaurant was blocked off, I guessed for renovations, but there was a counter and stools. Placed an order for a garlic burger with cheese and waited. They eventually gave me a bag with my food and I was told that I couldn't eat inside. No signs or indication of that before then. I had already paid, and was very hangry and decided not to get arrested. Took my food, found a shaded spot to park, and pulled out the burger. I assumed that a burger would come with condiments and toppings, as the menu didn't specify anything, I wasn't asked, and that is the norm for decent burgers. Even a McDonald's dollar menu burger has condiments. There was nothing besides the bun, patty, and what I would guess was some sort of garlic sauce. No cheese that I had ordered, no condiments, no nothing. To sum up: they should have had very clear signs or informed me before ordering that I couldn't eat inside and the menu should be clear that there are not only no toppings, but not even condiments, on their burgers.

Whoever the bald dude preparing the burgers with glasses and a beard is, has a major attitude issue. There are better ways to communicate with your customers.I also asked if they had ketchup because none were displayed out, he looks away and just says “Na”.About 5 mins later, another employee comes out with a tray full of ketchup. This has to be the laziest employee I’ve ever encountered and if working there is too much for him, then he should find a new job.

We walked in 7:30 when they close at 8. They refused to give us anything besides chicken nuggets and said the milk shake machine was broken. Then after he got our crusty nuggets and stale fries, we watched the workers make themselves burgers and shakes like right in front of us.... when they literally told us the machine was broken and that they were out of burgers...

How has management not figured out how to serve customers faster after this many months of a pandemic? I am stuck in line by a median or I would drive off. Absolutely ridiculous, feel bad for anyone on lunch hour who are also trapped. Go to chick filet and figure out how to make a line move faster over twenty minutes now.

Sat over 5 minutes before a girl finally asked if my order had been taken. When food came out, I only had less than 1/2 cup of drink. She dropped off my food and didn’t offer a refill at that time. My burger had mustard on it, which I ordered without. I wiped it off, which also removed all the mayo and ketchup. Decided I would ask for mayo when she came back around, so I ate ALL of my fries while I waited. Finished my drink before all of the fries were gone. She walked toward me, and had to see my empty glass on the edge of the table. She turned and went to clear another table before she came back to my table. By then, I had given up on a drink refill and decided to eat my burger as it was. She stopped by with several empty glasses in her hand and asked if I wanted a to go cup. I told her not to bother. I paid $1.99 for a single glass of tea.

I came in late one night because I knew it would be better to come inside and sit down to eat. I got the best service from a nice lady. I remember Amanda brought me my menu with a nice smile and was so friendly to me. I usually feel out of place in a restaurant sitting alone but she made me feel comfortable and I ate my meal without feeling this way. I appreciate her not making me feel awkward and having a pleasant conversation with me. If I come in at night again, ill ask for her and will spread the word. Good food and good people. Overall great experience. Thanks amanda!

Very poor. Bathroom dirty. No paper towels in machine. Told a person who worked there. She said she'd get it taken care of. Don't know if she did. Silverware was not clean. People were more busy playing on their phones and joking around than caring about their work. Waiter was polite. Would not go to this Steak 'n Shake again.

After our fiasco at the nearby Village Inn (see my review) we decided to eat at Steak 'n Shake on Capital Circle instead. Steak 'n Shake is not one of our GO-TO restaurants, but we have been to a few across the country and the experiences have been okay so we thought this would work for us. We were seated fairly quickly even though they were very busy. Our server was friendly and efficient, and she was able to keep up with us well even while serving a very large party at the same time. Our food was, for the most part, fresh, hot, and good. I rate Steak 'n Shake burgers as good-but-not-great and my wife's chicken sandwich was pretty bland. Sadly, the salad we ordered had a LOT of produce that was well past its prime, so it was an ugly presentation and we had to remove a good portion of brown and black pieces. As far as the premises go, the place was a sticky mess. Our table was not clean when we sat down and we were given one fork in a napkin as our service ware. Apparently, we were supposed to share. When we asked for another setup our server came back with a fork and knife rolled in a napkin. She explained that they didn't have clean setups, which we already suspected, since I could clearly see tons of dirty dishes and pans piled high in the kitchen since the door was propped open to the dining area and I had a good line-of-sight during our entire stay. Frankly, my concerns over sanitation at the restaurant would keep me away. We went to Steak 'n Shake simply because it was convenient at the time. However, we would likely not return without assurances that they had cleaned up their act and I cannot recommend that you go either. Onward...

Service was friendly but they were short staffed. Bathrooms were atrocious!!!! Women’s smelled like sewage! Do not recommend stopping here. The entire place needs a deep cleaning.
