“drove to Tallahassee from Valdosta, GA, for a shopping trip, and a good friend recommended El Rey Tacos & Beer. I’m so glad I stopped by! This place instantly transported me back to Mexico. I had the best torta I’ve ever tasted, the bread was perfectly fresh and soft, and every bite was bursting with flavor. It’s hard to find something this authentic back home in Valdosta. I also tried their aguas frescas, and they were incredibly refreshing and flavorful. My 10-year-old daughter ordered tacos and surprised me by eating four! She said they were the best tacos she’s ever had.This place is absolutely worth the drive. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone craving true Mexican flavors!“

“My original post I had a 5 out of 5 stars but I came here December 12 the night of my graduation at FSU to show my family this cool place I’ve been so fond of for the past year. We came in at 11:30 under the assumption that the establishment closed at 1am. The taps were completely closed by midnight and all tabs were closed at this time as well. In the past I have 100% been served after midnight. I’m just confused if the employee wanted to go home early. Also the male employee working said we could purchase to go beers after our tab was closed out. He mentioned they were half off but we could not drink them in the establishments. Was not the welcoming environment that I have had in the past. Basically everyone was almost forced to leave at midnight even though the sign on the door clearly says 1“

“There was a Thursday deal at Tijuana Flats, so I went to the one on Thomasville yesterday. I ordered a few entrees, a dessert, and a large queso with chips. Much to my chagrin, I got home (15 minutes away) and found my queso was missing. To some, this may not seem like a big deal, but to queso-loving folks, I was disappointed. I called the store and asked what could be done. I got the option to be put on a list and get a free large queso when I returned or get a refund on the queso (just under $5). I chose the refund, got the server's name, and went about my business. Many times, when this type of interaction occurs, nothing happens. Most times I remember to follow up if the business forgets (wasting more time on my part). However, this time was FAR different. Not only did I get a refund, but I was refunded for my entire meal! This was a pleasant surprise and more reason for me to continue to visit this business. Thank you for making me a more frequent customer of Tijuana Flats!“

“We had the pineapple and steak fajitas. Both dishes had sat in the windows a bit to long, no sizzle on the beef Fajita. The flavors were good, a little on the milder side. Meat was good just not as hot as I like. Chips and salsa were very good. The pineapple fajita is a pretty dish.

Service was attentive without being intrusive.

The atmosphere was very good. The decor is lively. They have done a wonderful job creating the backdrop to a great experience. The outside seating wasn't open but it was chilly.

I didn't have a drink but the drink menu is extensive and a lot of fun. Between the great decor and gorgeous drinks it is a Instagram posters dream.

I will try it again. I will definitely take any younger in the family who love to take pictures there.“

“Si! Yes! Look. If you ever see this food truck, pull up! I was stuck at a site and I saw droves of workers going to their set up. I now understand why:

They actually customized my burrito because I don't eat meat...but my wife does...and she was full and happy. 😂

The only reason the atmosphere wasn't a 5 is I'm stuck at work in the Florida sun. They're friendly, accommodating, affordable and efficient.“

“I had a great experience at Tijuana Flats, and a big part of that was the general manager, Jamal. You can instantly tell how much pride he takes in his store. Even though the lunch rush had just wrapped up, the restaurant was spotless and well organized. The hot sauce bar was fully stocked and clean—clearly not an afterthought.
Jamal’s attitude is admirable and his smile is contagious. He sets the tone for the entire place. The food is consistently good, and Jamal’s leadership and attitude make the experience even better.“
