“drove to Tallahassee from Valdosta, GA, for a shopping trip, and a good friend recommended El Rey Tacos & Beer. I’m so glad I stopped by! This place instantly transported me back to Mexico. I had the best torta I’ve ever tasted, the bread was perfectly fresh and soft, and every bite was bursting with flavor. It’s hard to find something this authentic back home in Valdosta. I also tried their aguas frescas, and they were incredibly refreshing and flavorful. My 10-year-old daughter ordered tacos and surprised me by eating four! She said they were the best tacos she’s ever had.This place is absolutely worth the drive. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone craving true Mexican flavors!“

“UPDATE: My first visit here was amazing and the fresh (uncooked) food (like ceviche) is really good! However - They need to use fresh oil and clean grease trap! Yesterday’s chips, corn tortilla, carne asada was horrible dirty greasy. Went in today to see if they had refreshed the oil (cleaned trap) and the waitress said, “no, sorry about that.” (?)... so disappointing that consistency is such a problem with restaurants these days.“

“There was a Thursday deal at Tijuana Flats, so I went to the one on Thomasville yesterday. I ordered a few entrees, a dessert, and a large queso with chips. Much to my chagrin, I got home (15 minutes away) and found my queso was missing. To some, this may not seem like a big deal, but to queso-loving folks, I was disappointed. I called the store and asked what could be done. I got the option to be put on a list and get a free large queso when I returned or get a refund on the queso (just under $5). I chose the refund, got the server's name, and went about my business. Many times, when this type of interaction occurs, nothing happens. Most times I remember to follow up if the business forgets (wasting more time on my part). However, this time was FAR different. Not only did I get a refund, but I was refunded for my entire meal! This was a pleasant surprise and more reason for me to continue to visit this business. Thank you for making me a more frequent customer of Tijuana Flats!“

“That ginger chick behind the bar was super moody. Was complaining all night about how people order food late (I ordered food late), how she likes when people order cans cause she doesn’t like washing glasses (reused my glass multiple times) and how her tips were light (tipped almost 100% so she knows not everyone that comes in is a broke college student). Oh, and there were random people walking behind the bar helping themselves.“

“My party and I visited this restaurant for an early lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't crowded; service was fast, and food was delicious. Our server was very attentive, but the star of the lunch date was the drink menu... it's crazy! Will definitely eat here again next time we're in Tallahassee.“

The only reason the atmosphere wasn't a 5 is I'm stuck at work in the Florida sun. They're friendly, accommodating, affordable and efficient.“
