We finally tried Orchid Thai for lunch and very impressed. I have a few favorite spots in Tallahassee for Thai food and Thai Orchid has just joined the list! The food: Lunch prices are a bit cheaper, about $10.95 for an entree, soup, and spring roll. The spring roll was crispy and soup was fantastic - chicken and rice with garlic oil and a rich chicken sauce. All of the usuals are on the menu in terms of curry and entrees, however, they mix it up a bit with a few fried rice dishes and specialties. I tried the Pad Bai Kra Prow with chicken medium and brown rice for an up charge. Basil chicken is one of my favorite Thai dishes so it's what I like to start with when going somewhere new. The heat level seemed more mild but the chicken was cooked perfectly with a healthy serving of onions, peppers, and carrots. I was surprised at how much sauce was on the plate but it's tasty so who cares! My husband ordered the massaman curry medium with chicken and yep, it's close to being the best curry we've had in town. We'll need to go back a few times before deeming it the best but wow...salty, creamy, sweet heat, just deeply rich with flavor. Other: we were the only people dining around 2pm on a Tuesday so I can't comment on how busy they get. But for being the only table, our service was prompt and quick. The interior has been spruced up a bit since Samrat but it's still an older building. We can't wait to go back! I'm already craving the rest of the menu.

Holy moly! What a hidden gem! This place is definitely up there as one of the best Thai places in Tallahassee! We ordered the green curry, yellow curry, spring rolls, chicken satay and steamed dumplings. The food is top notch along with their fantasticly on point Thai tea! Better prices than most thai restaurants, super friendly wait staff and quick service! We will be back again!

Loved the place. Nice but not formal. Got the drunken noodles, hot. They were delicious and HOT. Too afraid to try Thai Hot. :)

This used to be the Samrat Indian restaurantand now is a wonderful Thai restaurant. This is my first visit and I tried the pad see hu and it was delicious. We asked them to make it gluten-free and they had no problems at all doing so. The staff was wonderful and the atmosphere has been renovated to look very nice. We also ordered their plum wine which was one of the most delicious wines that I've ever tasted. I highly recommend dining at this new Thai restaurant in Tallahassee.
