I arrived at 11:30. I waited in the Order Here line for nearly 10 minutes before I could place my order because the only one person taking orders was also operating the toaster oven for people ahead of me.

My $$ Hawthorne Club Sandwich, was exactly that...no sides like chips and pickles were even offered. Fortunately the sandwich was very good.

While eating, the music seemed to gradually get louder and louder...to the point my meal companions had a very hard time carrying on a conversation.

This is a MUST see/experience. We were visiting from Kansas City and adored the food service and especially the bread!

Great sandwiches and bread! Our favorites are the Italian and the Reuben. The focaccia and ciabatta are excellent and reheat well at home. Also, the Cranberry Sweet Potato salad converted me from my previous dislike of sweet potatoes.

I went to Hawthorn Bistro for breakfast and tried a few things: the scone of the week (lemon poppyseed), the classic breakfast sandwich on brioche, and the beef hash. The lemon poppyseed scone was definitely the highlight — soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The sandwich and hash were okay, but I asked for my eggs over easy and the yolk came out fully cooked, which was a letdown.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or coffee hangout.

I’d love to come back and try their lunch menu, but as for breakfast, I’m not sure I’d give it another go. Still, it’s a lovely spot with great service and a lot of potential.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Tallahassee! They have excellent sandwiches, soups, breads, salads, and pastries. Everything is fresh and delicious and the portions are substantial! The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommend!

One of the best Italian sandwiches I’ve ever put in my mouth.

The food was drastically overpriced with no sides included . Their Medionoche was very good. My California Turkey Club was extremely salty. But if you like bacon like that, this is for you. The sandwich meat did not seem like it was high quality, though. There are equally priced places that are better here in town. Selling a quiche or scone for $8 bucks is beyond ridiculous. The $8 Guinness Ground Beef pocket was less than half the size of something priced as such. They do have a cool looking poptart, but there is no way I would pay $8 for it. Go to Lucky Goat next door. You will be much happier.

Hawthorne’s pizza pop-ups are hands-down the best thing happening in Tallahassee, and easily the best pizza in town. Honestly, just order them all. No need to choose. Every single one is delicious. But if you do have to decide, the Spano and the Fig Prosciutto are absolute flavor bombs. Don’t miss them!

I love focaccia bread, and so any time I find it on a menu, I want to give it a try. And The Hawthorn has been on my want-to-try list for a while! Finally made it there for a girls lunch with my aunt, mom & sister, and it was SO delicious. I got the caprese grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia bread, and it was sooo good. The pesto was amazing, the bread was delicious, the crispy melty cheese was so yummy, and the whole thing was honestly spectacular. My sister got the medianoche, and we shared a lot of bites back and forth, and hers was delicious too. My one complaint is that a side is not included, and for a $16 sandwich, I feel like some chips at the very least should be included at that price. But maybe that's just inflation these days... Regardless though, it was delicious, and I'd love to try more from their menu in the future!

We tried several items on the menu, one was a Cuban style sandwich, a turkey sandwich, chips and a cookie. I also had an orange soda. Prices are on the higher end. Food was very good and fresh. It even came out quickly. Location is solid. The only downside is the service can be hit or miss. Seems a little disorganized at times. Other than that it’s a great place to grab lunch and try some desserts.

Food is great. The service is iffy. It's too loud inside but again the food is great

I knew they have the best pastries in tally. But I visited San Fransisco's famous bakery last week and found Hawthorn's croissant is even better. They provide a perfect heating service, and nicely allow to bring Lucky Goat's coffee.

Their air conditioner is always freezing. Be warm up!

Lovely! I come here nearly every day after school, and it is wonderful! Kind employees, handmade baked goods by an excellent pastry chef, and a calm, clean environment!
