We decided to have a small date night here, we arrived before 7pm in hopes of getting the special girls night out for the last Wednesday of the month deal. We were seated and waited (a good bit) where we were then told that that special stops at 7pm. Assuming the guy that finally came to table was a manager (wearing blue), he did nothing to help even though we arrived before 7. We ended up leaving! If you are gonna charge 108 bucks plus tax and tip you better have good customer service! Workers on phones and sitting around is poor management.

Food and service were very good, the booths, however, could use some help. They have been reupholstered since our last visit, but the support wasn't addressed. Felt like we were sitting in buckets, lol.

The Melting Pot Tallahassee has a bit of a reputation for being one of the better places in Tallahassee for gluten-free food. My spouse and I went there for an early anniversary before Oktoberfest kicks in truly in force (and everything has gluten in it). When I made my reservation, I included a note about gluten-free allergy. I told the host, who said it wasn't necessary and the server would get the ticket. We told the server anyway, to be safe. She seemed to understand. The cheese course seemed okay. When we got the entree, though, the raviolis were doubled up instead of the vegetables, and she played dumb like that made sense for gluten-free. The entrees had to be remade while the cooking liquid boiled away and reduced... and I was left wondering if the "gluten-free" bread I was served for my appetizer was actually the gluten-free version. We also received the teriyaki sauce, which contains gluten. Needless to say, I didn't eat the brownies in the desert and just stuck to the fruit. I tried to find a manager, but they were nowhere to be located... unless they were the gentleman alone at the 6-top being taken of by our server. Even if it had been the manager or even the owner himself, I wouldn't have been able to stay and talk: I was too busy trying not to curl up and pray that I wasn't going to embarrass myself with the stomach pains I was being put through. Tallahassee celiacs and gluten-intolerants, cross The Melting Pot off your list! It's not safe anymore!

Excellent food, amazing atmosphere, and the service was exceptional. Drove all the way down from Georgia, and I regret nothing. I'm looking forward to eating at this establishment again.

We’ve been going to The Melting Pot for over 20 years now. In our 4th visit to this location since we moved here the food was as amazing as ever. The service however was the worst we’ve ever had at a Melting Pot. Our drinks were empty for 38 minutes. When the check came I went to the bar and asked for the manager. Shawn came out and was great. We had seen him previously during our meal a few times. He knew what was going on before I reported it. I attempted to pay at that time and he wouldn’t let me. I wanted to pay and he explained that they have a standard they want to meet and he wouldn’t let me pay. I tried one last time and he wouldn’t have it. I made the decision to leave at that point. I regret not having left a tip because I generally tip very generously. Either way he renewed my faith in good customer service and I will be back again for sure. The food was amazing. Thank you Shawn for addressing the problem and taking action to fix it. We’ll be back soon and leave a double tip next time for what I’m sure will be a better service experience. I just read a different review where a couple waited 30 minutes to get waited on and they had the same server as us, Alexia. She was very nice and polite just maybe forgot about us or something. I want to make it clear though that out of 5-6 states and 20+ years with probably 30+ visits to different locations this was a first. They set the bar high for so long I was taken off guard by the experience. She was not rude, just inattentive and distracted.

Great atmosphere and delicious food. A bit pricy but it's in part for the fondue show. Our waiter, Race, was excellent, accommodating and polite.

We went for our 10yr anniversary and left full, probably over full. This was my first time and her second. The waiter was friendly but was pulled between sections so we didn't see him except when he brought the next course. The other wait staff were also in the same area all the time so I found it distracting with all the traffic back and forth.

I don't see myself doing this again as I wasn't wild about having to cook my own food and pay extra for the right to. I also felt like I had to eat everything otherwise it was going to be wasted. We simply couldn't finish dessert and honestly probably wouldn't order it if not already included in the package.

So it's good, do it once, be prepared to pay for it and stay a while. This was the single most expensive meal I've had in my 38yrs alive and we didn't have coctails. It takes a long time, we were there a bit over 2yrs and if we had a group I could see it taking way longer. You are paying for the experience though, there is nothing here you couldn't do yourself at home with an induction burner.

I really expected more out of this place.
We had a 5:30p reservation. We were checked in and led to our table. There were two other couples along the same wall of us but the waitress only served those tables… it was 30min before my boyfriend stuck his head out and a woman asked had we been served. Need I mind you, we were getting ready to walk out cause 30min JUST to ask for water is absurd (reason why service is a 3)!! Alexia apologized and proceeded to help us throughout the evening.

We did the Thursdate event and Alexia was so knowledgeable and helpful as first timers. We had the bacon/ jalapeño cheese to start with carrots/ broccoli/ cauliflower/ bread/ apples - not a fan of raw cauliflower. The mojo style was SO GOOD but pretty salty on the broccoli. The garlic pepper steak and shrimp were my favorite - the teriyaki steak was a bit thick for me. We finished with the flaming turtle chocolate fondue and the desserts along with it were so good- the banana and strawberries were fresh!

We were celebrating our anniversary and Alexia made it special by decorating a plate for us with chocolate syrup… if she wasn’t our server, we definitely would’ve walked out without ever looking back for a second chance!

The bartender poured/ mixed some good drinks too!
