Uptown Cafe and Catering

We are staying near by and found this grm in a Google search. Great service , there was a short wait but the food came out pretty quick. My only complaint was the water had a bad taste.

As many times as I’ve been here, this is the first time I’ve wanted to leave before the food came - and I’m upset I didn’t. Very mediocre today! Money well wasted on this trash.

The food was not satisfying, hot (barely warm), and whoever in the back probably wasn’t even supposed to work today…. Cause they certainly didn’t care about the food going out.

The server, granted I’m sure she was busy, but was not attentive to our table in the slightest bit. She brought our drinks (we had coffee with NO spoons, water with NO straws even after asking for them!), we needed some time, she didn’t come back for good minute. I was out of coffee and she came out with the pot a few times and didn’t bother coming to our table asking if we needed a refill like she did the other tables.

The only good part of breakfast was the bacon - but it was very greasy.

They definitely need to train their employees more before letting them work on their own. Our server messed up and gave us the wrong order. Then tried to have us pay for a side after she asked “and what is your side that comes with that?” I realized only after I paid we got charged for a side of hash browns that are incredibly small. About the side of a baby’s palm. Then said they cannot undo the transaction.

I give them 5 stars because the service was great, the food was good, and the staff was the best I've seen in a while. I appreciate the smiling faces, and the energy was super positive. We enjoyed our little jaunt inside to pick up our order. We were able to pick up our breakfast early by a half hour or so, and we will definitely be returning to try different options for breakfast or lunch a few times each month. Thanks to the service staff!!???

Ordered from their catering menu for an office lunch event, and they very responsive, easy to communicate with, and went above and beyond to make this an easy experience. Of course, there were many compliments from all the attendees. My only suggestion would be to include some type of logo/identification because everyone kept asking where the great food came from.

We were told it would be a 20 minute wait for our party of 7. After 35 minutes, the waitress sat a party of 5 ahead of us that had just arrived. When we asked why that table was sat before us, the waitress said that they didn't have a 7 top table and to sit us they would have to wait for 2 tables to open. So they clearly will prioritize smaller tables at the sacrifice of large parties. Take your family somewhere more welcoming that are willing to serve you.

Wow! It’s a small disjointed place on the corner. You walk in not expecting much…oh my goodness we were so incredibly surprised! First off, the service is great! Second…the food!!! The potato salad has the potatoes scalloped and there’s either bacon or smoked paprika in it. It’s very unique but still potato salad. The texture and flavor are just out of this world! Plus, you get a great big serving! I got the Rueben and it was fresh, delicious, cooked just right…just so good! My husband got a corned beef hash and he really enjoyed it! It tastes like it was cooked over the campfire so perhaps it has liquid smoke in it? I don’t know but we both were VERY impressed! Definitely going back soon!

Excellent place. Exactly what we wanted. My wife had the presto scram. Looked weird. Tasted great! Service was perfect. I had the ABLT and LOVED it. We added to our contacts for our next Tally trip.
