I ordered the large oxtail at Butter Flakes Bakery & Grill, and the oxtail was flavorful, tender, and 🔥! I definitely enjoyed the meal.
But y’all… TWO tiny slices of plantain?! 😂😭 I called and was told those two little slices were $3. TWO SLICES FOR $3?!
And honestly, this isn’t just Butter Flakes—Jamaican restaurants everywhere seem to have the same plantain policy. 😂 They’ll stand over the tray inspecting every slice like they’re choosing a diamond, only to hand you the smallest one in the whole stash. 😂
Meanwhile, they’ll give you enough rice and peas to feed the whole family reunion, but plantains? Suddenly there’s a national shortage. 😂🍌
The oxtail was 🔥 though. Just show the plantains some love!

I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt like I had to this time. As a Jamaican, I was extremely disappointed with the so called Brown Stew Chicken I ordered from Butterflakes.

I waited quite a while for my food, and when I finally received it, the chicken was cold. To make matters worse, it wasn't even authentic Brown Stew Chicken. The chicken was dry and tasted like fried chicken that had been tossed in a sweet sauce rather than being properly brown stewed.

The curry goat was actually good, which made this experience even more surprising. I was looking forward to my meal, but by the time I got home, I was completely disappointed. It was a waste of money, and unfortunately, I won't be ordering it again.

Jerk chicken is great. Best I've had. Service extremely poor. Cashier full attitude on a Saturday at 230pm.

Came here last Friday after work for some jerk chicken, festivals, rice & peas, fillet king fish and peppered shrimp.

The food was great the price for the fillet fish was extremely expensive- not really worth the price.

I’d definitely come back the food was well seasoned and cooked. Great representation of Caribbean food.

Edit: I went there last Saturday 6.20 and got jerk chicken wings and it wasn’t cooked all the way it was still bloody and pink meat and they didn’t clean it that will cause a piece had feathers all over it 🤮🤢 ended up throwing it away, but the festivals were good. I won’t be eating chicken anytime soon!!

I’m not even exaggerating… this might be the best curry goat I’ve had in a long time πŸ˜‚πŸ”₯. The goat was so tender it practically surrendered to the fork, and the pepper had me sweating like I was doing cardio β€” but somehow I loved every second of it.

I usually go to Carl’s Seafood when I want good curry goat, but this right here gave them a serious run for their money. Flavor was rich, spicy, authentic, and the gravy? Dangerous.

Whoever cooked this put their whole soul into the pot πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‡―πŸ‡² Definitely ordering again. Well done! Got me out here writing reviews!πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

stop by for lunch somewhat busy. they had two lines(one for cash the other for credit) couldnt see dining room very well. Pickup line was next to the drinks. I had the curry goat/ peas and rice which was well seasoned. The meat couldve been cooked longer. The menue prices are affordable. I wanted to try their fried chicken- maybe next time.
