I have been to Beacon many times. I have a lot of visitors from the north who visit me and I take them to Beacon for the cocktails and sunset views. I had friends from Wisconsin visiting so I made a reservation for Wednesday February 11 at 5:00PM. Beacon cancelled my reservation via text at the last minute saying that the cancellation was due to “certain changes”. When I called for an explanation I was told the cancellation was due to a corporate event. So I am guessing a corporate event was more important than a long time customer. I will be taking future visitors to one of the other rooftop venues.

Wonderful each and every time we go! We hosted 4 from Seattle and we all loved the views, the atmosphere! The food and beverage were quickly delivered and beautifully presented!

I wrapped up an informal walking tour of Ybor with two friends by hopping on the free TECO trolley and riding over to Beacon, finishing the night at the rooftop bar. It was the perfect finale to an evening of food and drink, with a tremendous view and a beautifully made cocktail. Even on a Thursday night there was still space, and we were seated at an excellent table right by the railing.
Benergy was our server and he was outstanding. He struck the right balance of attentiveness and easy confidence, offering thoughtful recommendations that showed he really knows this menu and has spent time with the drinks. His guidance helped us land on exactly the right choices to close out the evening.
I ordered a mezcal cocktail that was delicious, strong, and wonderfully balanced. I couldn't tell you what it was called, but I did manage to get a picture before settling in with it.
Beacon is a true pleasure on a clear night. Sunset would have been ideal, but in January the sun is long gone by the time you arrive, leaving the Tampa skyline glowing like a constellation. It's a memorable way to end a night in Ybor.

I had a very disappointing experience at Beacon Rooftop in Tampa.
My friends and I purchased a bottle of champagne, and afterward we walked to the bar to grab another round. We sat directly at the bar where five bartenders were working, yet none of them acknowledged us or even spoke to us. Not to me, and not to the two other women I was with.
As we walked away, I explained the situation to someone who appeared to be a manager. He nodded and said he would handle it. Unfortunately, nothing changed.
We then went to the other bar area. There were only two other patrons sitting there and only two available seats. I was never offered a seat the entire time we were there, even while purchasing drinks. The lack of attentiveness and basic hospitality was very noticeable.
Between drinks and the bottle, we easily spent around $350, and the service was absolutely not worth it. For a rooftop bar with the prices and reputation Beacon has, I expected far better customer service and awareness.
I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.
Beautiful place to have drinks & and watch the sunset. Our waitress was so nice & efficient. The drinks were pricey but very comparable to the other places nearby. This was the first place we didn’t feel like we were getting ripped off for the value. For reference, we are staying at The Edition. The espresso martini was ok but the old fashioned was so good we got two. :)

I reserved this place for me and my wife's anniversary specifically for the views. The seat they gave us must have been the 1 seat in the entire place that didn't have a view. It was a couch against a wall and if you sat on one side of the couch you had to look through another table full of people to see outside and if you sat on the other side of the couch you had a view of a shelf against a wall. Needless to say I was not going to spend $100+ here to view a wall when they specifically market their views. So we left. Very disappointed. Unless they can guarantee you a seat by the window or outside this place is not worth it. The server was very friendly and understanding so nothing against her but if you put down on the reservation that this is for an anniversary they should at least make sure they don't give you the worst seat in the house.
