This was our first visit to Burns steakhouse and we celebrated my wife’s birthday! What a classic steakhouse! The inside of the restaurant was so well decorated, and the staff was extremely friendly. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, and our food was delivered to our table perfectly! After our dinner, we did take a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar. The two gentlemen that gave us the tour were super knowledgeable and we learned a ton about the restaurant. After our tour, we went to the desert room and hadour very own little intimate booth. I have the café con Leche, and my wife had a coffee. Both were extraordinary! I had the Pistachio cheesecake and my wife had one of their signature ice cream desserts. What a special night and thank you to all of the staff of Burns steakhouse! What a great birthday celebration!

We have been anticipating our first ever visit to Berns after moving to Tampa 1 1/2 years ago and it did not disappoint. Was there for a Birthday celebration (60) and they did a nice job recognizing it by bringing a beautiful book about the restaurant to the table to start the night. Cocktails were excellent, wine selection is amazing and the steak and sides were exceptional. Our server was attentive but not intrusive which was perfect. The tour was great and the dessert room is the perfect way to end a very special evening. Can’t wait for another special occasion to celebrate here.

it’s Berns what else can you say, expect to spend a good amount of money. However, you will get great bang for your buck in terms of food quality, portion size, and customer service. Pretty much a white-glove level waiting experience, you can expect to be walked through every detail of the menu should you need.

Overhyped and underdelivered.
We planned my teenage daughter’s birthday dinner at Bern’s weeks in advance. Because reservations were booked near Valentine’s Day, I called ahead and was told that if we arrived right at opening, we would “definitely” get a table. Maybe a short wait, but essentially the same outcome as a reservation.
So we arrived at opening. We were second in line.
I explained it was my daughter’s birthday and referenced the call. The hostess told us our only option was bar seating (my daughter is underage), but that seats were available. I stepped away briefly to look at the bar area. When I returned ready to accept - we were told all seats had been given to the large party behind us and the new wait would be 2 hours.
That’s not first-come, first-served. That’s revenue-maximizing.
There was no acknowledgment of the birthday. Not even a simple “Happy Birthday.” For a restaurant that markets itself as an experience, the hospitality at the door felt cold and transactional.
We chose not to wait 2 hours. We left, had a beautiful dinner elsewhere, and they decorated her dessert with candles and “Happy Birthday.” It was thoughtful, warm, and everything this evening was supposed to be.
If you’re planning something special, don’t rely on “just come when we open.” Get a confirmed reservation and verify it.
Will we be returning? No.

I had a wonderful Valentine's Day meal with my girlfriend. The steaks were excellent and we were able to enjoy a few glasses of exquisite aged red wine. Overall, we had a truly unique dining experience.
Even without a reservation and while seated at the bar, I had a truly pleasant dinner. The entire experience felt seamless, largely due to Josh, my bartender and server. His outstanding attention to detail and swift handling of my requests, including a small issue with the meat, made the evening exceptional. The🍸 were perfection 👌

The Best Steakhouse in Florida! Impeccable Service by Drew our Server..We were lucky enough to get a table on Superbowl Sunday for my Birthday. The steaks and fish were both amazing and perfectly cooked. I had a dry aged Delmonico Sreak and my wife had the snapper. Both very delicious! The Wedge Salad with the fresh smoked bacon was the bomb. I wish I had a piece of the bacon now..Onion soup, bisque was also very delicious. We loved the chips and dip served upon our arrival and snacked a bit on them with cocktails while we looked at the main menu. If you love wine, go to Burns.. I think it has the largest wine collection in Florida. I bet that Berns has wine from every country that makes wine...I noticed some awesome South Africa ones. The desserts were unbelievable too...they even have a dessert room....can't go wrong with the macadamia nut ice cream or the hot Dutch Apple Pie. Our server was the highlight of our restaurant experience. He was the most thoughtful and knowledgeable waiter we have ever had. He gave us a little restaurant history along with his personal recommendations which were superb! Thank you, Drew! You made this day a special day to be remembered. We will most definitely be back and request your service if you are available. Thank you sir!
