The food is so fresh and comes out quick. The kimchi mentaiko with shrimp and Miyagi with beef—the portions are incredibly generous, everything is very well seasoned and balanced. Amazing value for money. It is hot inside but you can easily carry it out.

I had the chicken katsu with curry and chicken karage on the side. I have had one of my best curry chickens and the katsu in NY. I went with that expectation but was little bit disappointed. The karage is more like an Indian chicken 65. Overall it’s a good meal and I would go again. It’s just that after so much of hype I was dissatisfied with the curry and katsu.

Great place for some casual Japanese comfort food. The old diner vibe is fun, and the food is fantastic.

Good vibes, big portions, tasty food. I got okonomiyaki and the portion was huge. Ended up eating some of it and saved the rest for dinner before my flight, and even then had a hard time finishing it. They play a wide assortment of Japanese pop tunes and there's a lot of anime and other Japanese merch around the place as decoration. Clearly in a former diner and the mix of aesthetics was unique and nice. I recommend

We were craving ramen, so we decided to visit Chanko for Sunday lunch. It was a 40-minute drive from our place, and we were able to find parking in a nearby lot.
Chanko is a Japanese diner with a charming 1950s atmosphere, and I appreciate their unique business model. Using their self-order kiosk, we ordered Karaage Rice, Kimchi Mentai, and the Hiro Classic. For drinks, we chose watermelon soda and lychee.
The service was prompt, and we received our food quickly. Every dish we tried was delicious, well-prepared, and flavorful, with the chicken perfectly cooked and seasoned with just the right amount of spices. We loved our meal at Chanko, and it was a refreshing change from our usual lunch routine.

Ordered the Okonomiyaki and it was phenomenal. Definitely on par with ones I’ve eaten in Hiroshima. Can’t wait to eat here again.

Zoe was an amazing pleasure you have as a watresss
I didn't like that they didn't accept cash and that you can't order unless you use the kiosk. I've had amazing Japanese Curry in Japan at a place called CoCo Ichibanya and a big part of that experience is how the food is plated. I ordered the chicken katsu curry and it comes in to go containers. So there isn't a great way to plate your food which kind of killed the experience for me personally. I would come back because the food is good but having to pour my curry over top of everything in a small to go container ain't it.

You can not beat the food or the cost in a fun atmosphere of an old 50s diner that has had a contemporary Japnese make over.

OMG this place is probably the most delicious food I’ve had in the past year. Please go, now! It’s a quick serve where you order at the computer. But there’s beer and sake and the portions are huge! Seriously so good!

This place is stupid good. I don't even know the name of what I ordered, it was one of the first things on there. Got it with grilled chicken and the layered pancakes. Make sure you get extra sauce on the side. Get a green tea. I've never been, but it felt like I popped into someplace in Tokyo and had some local food. You order everything by yourself on the screen as soon as you walk in, then they call your name when it's ready. Seating for about eight groups of people or so. Go there immediately.
