My friends and I have been loyal patrons of Dead Bob’s for nearly six years and have consistently recommended it to others due to the great food and reasonable drink prices. It has always been a place we enjoyed and supported regularly.
Unfortunately, recent visits have been completely soured by the behavior of a newly promoted bartender. His attitude toward us has been dismissive, rude, and unprofessional from the moment we sat down.
On one visit, a gentleman offered to buy me shots and walked me to the bar while I placed the order. Instead of confirming who was paying or closing out the open tab properly, the bartender allowed the man to leave with his tab still open and then charged the shots to my friend’s tab without asking or confirming anything. When we pointed out the mistake, he chose to argue with us rather than take responsibility for his error, which was frustrating and completely avoidable.
Also, I completely understand and respect house rules such as no vaping indoors, however the way he addressed the situation was condescending and unnecessarily rude, rather than calm or professional.
On Thanksgiving Eve, we attempted to give the place another chance and were met with the same poor attitude. When I made a harmless comment about the bar being quieter than usual, he rolled his eyes and responded in a sarcastic, demeaning tone: “Well, you got here at 1 a.m. so” The level of disrespect and dismiss toward paying customers is unacceptable.
We left immediately afterward before ordering even one drink because no one wants to spend money in a place where staff seem annoyed by the presence of guests. Especially when it’s clear it’s normal for him because it’s occurred on multiple occasions within a two weeks span. It’s extremely disappointing to see a place we once loved allow someone with such an unprofessional attitude to represent their establishment.
Dead Bob’s used to be a place we loved and regularly supported. At this point, we are questioning whether we will return.

Food is great. Service is not that great. Ladies are way too concerned flirting for their tips and ignoring everyone else. Charging extra to get a box for our food is absolutely nuts.

i love this place! i’ve been so many times since moving to tampa and this is by far my favorite bar. great food (i was shocked) the chicken piccata is actually one of the best i’ve ever had. sam hannah and kara b were great fantastic spectacular 12/10 i will come back anytime i want a nice good meal and some drinks with amazing service :) thank u
