I dined solo and because I dined solo, I found the layout particularly attractive, but I’m not sure I would have felt that way had I been dining with someone else - you sit side-by-side, which is great for a date and okay for some other situations. Back to the food and service … I’m not going to dig out my menu - you guys can look at the website. I had the 10 course meal. Regardless of the quality of the restaurant, I despise stuffy dining. I don’t mind putting on nice clothes, but I hate pretense. I found staff to be welcoming and relaxed. The food was superb every dish was prepared perfectly - I had favorites, but all were excellent. Personally, I don’t care about additional stars since there is more focus on service and extraneous items for additional Michelin stars - if it is food you are interested in, Ebbe is outstanding.

On May 24, we had the absolute pleasure of dining at EBBE in Tampa and let’s just say, we’re still emotionally recovering from how incredible it was. From the first pour to the last bite, it felt less like a typical night out and more like being invited into someone’s inner circle… if that someone was Chef Ebbe and he just happened to be a culinary genius.
Let’s start with this: most of the dishes were served to us by Chef Ebbe himself. Yes, really. There’s something deeply personal and rare about having the person behind the menu walk your plate over and talk about it with you; especially when you’re mid conversation about traveling to Puerto Rico and cracking jokes like old friends. That level of attention? A whole different league.
The prestige tasting menu was, without exaggeration, a work of art. Every dish was beautifully plated, mindfully composed, and full of flavor that made you sit up a little straighter. You could feel the intention behind each bite. This wasn’t just food, it was storytelling.
We were seated right across from the open kitchen, front row seats to a culinary performance that was nothing short of mesmerizing. Watching Chef Ebbe and his team move was like witnessing a well rehearsed ballet set to the rhythm of heat and precision. Every pour, every cut, every whispered command was part of a symphony of intention and mastery. There was no chaos, only choreography. It was the kind of behind the scenes view that makes you appreciate not just the final plate, but the craftsmanship it took to bring it to life.
Shoutout to Melissa, our server and unofficial wine whisperer, who recommended a white wine that paired so perfectly with the menu, it felt like she read our taste buds’ minds.
From the hospitality to the humor, to the heart poured into each plate, EBBE isn’t just a restaurant. It’s an experience. And yes, that Michelin star? Very much earned.
We left full, not just of amazing food, but of gratitude for such a unique evening. Next time we’re in Tampa, we’re absolutely coming back. Chef Ebbe and team, thank you. You made us feel right at home, with a tasting menu we’ll be dreaming about for a long time.

We were excited to visit Ebbe for our third visit and take our daughter. First of all, it did not disappoint. And while, yes, it is the most expensive meal and pairing that we typically will have, it is worth it. YES! Why?
Food is incredible. Creative attention to detail and the preparation is something that we do not typically experience. We lived in Toledo, OH for a time. There was a chef who was trained at what was the number one restaurant in the world in Copenhagen. Our experience at EBBE is similar, but elevated. We appreciate and love the creativity and interesting levels of flavor. Actually, many of the courses are things that I would either say I don’t like, or would never order. Yet, EBBE’s dishes literally left me awestruck. To the point where I would dare to say I like beets, for example.
The wine pairing was exceptional. To talk to EBBE, himself, and learn the effort that is taken to masterfully pair the wines, is super cool and they were spot on.
Presentation. The flavors and sophistication is first class.
To have a meal here is to come with an understanding that this is not American interpretation of European food but actual Scandanavian sophistication presented beautifully. We’ve only ever done the full tasting.
It’s art and creativity to the highest level that we are so fortunate to have here in Tampa. We look forward to our next visit.
