. We love good food and wine pairings . We were excited to try Ebbe . While the food was excellent the experience was disappointing . There were way too many voids during the service where there were empty plates , water glasses and wine glasses . While paying 300 per person to have 2 ounce wine pourings and unattentive service is not a Michelin experience . No michelin restaurant pours wine with a plastic shot pourer in a wine bottle . There is definitely a lack of attentiveness and detail . On a Friday night the restaurant was less than 25 percent full . Unfortunately it appears we were not diligent enough to realize this restaurant is struggling and while the food was excellent the experience and value are not there . There are many other restaurants in Tampa that offer better dining experiences .

While I was very excuted to eat at Ebbe for a seoncd time, the restarurant missed the mark on Friday night. The top four things: (1) our champagne was served warm; (2) our bread crumbs were never wiped from the table. I even neatly moved them in a little pile and waited. Multiple courses later, I moved the breadcrumbs on to another plate. Now would I complain about bread crumbs typically? No. But at a Michelin star restaurant? Yes. And we were the only table in the restaurant for at least 20 minutes; (3) our water was consistently empty. We had to ask multiple times for it to be refilled; and (4) we chose the wine pairing and our duck was served before our wine. We pointed this out to the gentleman who served our wine. He was like oh yeah ... he had to get someone's attention who came over and poured the wine. She didn't not apologize or acknowledge for the misstep. I think what succinctly recaps our night is when my friend (who has not eaten at as many Michelin star restaurants as I have) asked me: are Michelin star restaurants reviewed every year?
Overall it really was a good dinner at EBBE during our Prestige Menu experience - the food was truly innovative and excellent. Unique flavors, great portions, and just downright decadent. The guest experience was, let's say different, to other Michelin Starred restaurants we have been. The seating was very comfortable, but not very private. Felt like a really nice bar. I was surprised that we were charged $10 for still water, when we ordered we assumed it was complimentary considering the cost of the overall meal. Additionally, the waitress asked if we wanted sparkling wine since “we were there to celebrate a birthday”, and again, we assumed that it was on the house based on that exchange and were then charged $35 a glass. The wine menu was very odd, if ordering by the bottle, they only offered “red” for $220 a bottle and “white” for $120 a bottle. Granted, we should have reviewed the menu showing pricing on their website beforehand, but those things seemed counterintuitive to me for someone who has eaten at nicer places before. Other Michelin Starred restaurants in Tampa do not have these restraints (Kosen, Rocca, etc).
Wonderful experience all around - food was amazing. Really a standout from what we have had in Tampa. Staff were excellent and attentive. They catered well to one vegetarian. We will be back!

Our experience at EBBE was nothing short of magical, and it's easy to understand why Chef Ebbe Vollmer has earned a Michelin star. This is not just a dinner; it's an intimate, expertly crafted culinary adventure. From the moment we were seated at the U-shaped chef's counter, the evening felt personal and immersive, allowing us to witness the kitchen's artistry unfold firsthand.
EBBE in my opinion is Tampa’s best dining experience in terms of quality, taste, and overall vibe. Having lived here for many years and eaten at every restaurant in this area, I just really appreciate that we finally got a restaurant that serves quality food with the appropriate fine dining flair. I hope we as a community can continue to support their vision and business because it’s truly unique for our city.

Absolutely amazing, as always. We so enjoy this place. It's quiet, calm, and we talk about the food the whole way home!
I recently dined at Ebbe and experienced the discovery menu. I would rate my experience approximately 3.5 out of 5 stars, equivalent to a 6.6 or 7 out of 10.It seemed to be a challenging evening, possibly due to it being a quieter Wednesday. There was only one server attending to all the guests, which appeared to make her quite busy. As a result, the service felt limited, and we didn’t receive as much attention as we might have hoped. I did notice, however, that another staff member stepped in to assist her later in the evening, which seemed to help lighten her load. Additionally, the lighting at our table went out, which slightly impacted the ambiance.
Regarding the food, I must commend the éclair—it was truly delightful and a highlight of the meal.
However, I found the crab dish to have an unusually strong smell, which made it less enjoyable for me. Similarly, the foie gras had an overpowering odor that made it difficult to eat, and I found it quite challenging to finish. I wanted to share this feedback during the meal, but with the server being so busy, there wasn’t an opportunity to address this at the time, and she seemed understandably exhausted. On a positive note, the duck was exceptional and truly elevated the dining experience for me.
Overall, while there were some standout dishes, the experience didn’t leave a strong impression. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I appreciate the hard work of your team under the circumstances.

Amazing food and service. It's not inexpensive but for the amount of effort taken to make the meal it makes sense. So amazing at the end of the day

It was a great experience. Chef James was present throughout, explained everything, was interactive. Will return again when back in Tampa.
I wanted to surprise my wife for our 20th anniversary and via research of the highest rated dining “experiences” I learned about EBBE. We went all in with the Prestige Menu along with the 8 glass wine pairing. I'm so glad we reserved the 5pm placement as we were the only ones in the restaurant for our first two servings. It felt like a 100% private experience. Our server was super informed about all the wines and educated accordingly. An initial chef served the first few dishes which were astonishing. Then, Chef EBBE himself served several dishes and provided amazing conversation. It will be a night we will forever remember. We will be celebrating our 21st anniversary there next year. I can't believe such an incredible restaurant is right here in our Tampa backyard! Five Stars All The Way!
Where to start? Unfortunately, this dining experience was not worth the $785 spent for two people. The pricing is on par with a 2- or 3-Michelin-star restaurant, yet the service and execution fell drastically short.
1. Poor First Impressions We arrived slightly early for our reservation and were told—quite rudely—that we were too early. We headed to the bar to wait, only to find that the bartender had to Google how to make a Negroni. In what world is that acceptable at a Michelin-starred restaurant? To make matters worse, we were charged $35 for a glass of wine that was clearly listed at $14 on the menu.
2. Allergy Mishandling – A Serious Safety Concern Once seated, we were asked about dietary restrictions, and two guests clearly disclosed a shellfish allergy (shrimp, crab, lobster). Despite this, they were served crab. One of our guests—a physician—recognized the dish immediately and chose not to eat it, but the fact that it was served at all is unacceptable.
To make matters worse, it was extremely difficult to get the attention of any staff. We almost had to yell across the restaurant just to get someone to remove the plate before it became a serious health risk. When the server finally responded, she said, “You said you were allergic to shellfish,” as if that excused the error—even though crab is shellfish.
This kind of mistake could have had life-threatening consequences, and the way it was handled showed a clear lack of training and awareness regarding food allergies.
3. Excessive Charges & Poor Water Service We repeatedly had to flag down servers just to get water. Somehow, we were charged for six bottles of water, despite most of the men at the table drinking very little. This felt excessive—especially on top of the already inflated wine charge. We couldn’t help but wonder whether this was an intentional markup.
4. Confusion Over Allergy and Condescending Explanation Later in the meal, scallops were served to the table, but the guest with the shellfish allergy was excluded from that course. When we asked why, the server explained that they had omitted the scallop due to her shellfish allergy. We clarified that she is allergic to shellfish (like shrimp, crab, and lobster) — not mollusks like scallops — and would have liked to enjoy the dish.
Instead of acknowledging the mix-up, the server condescendingly explained that scallops are shellfish, which is technically incorrect in many allergy guidelines and entirely unnecessary given that we had already communicated the allergy specifics. It came off as dismissive and patronizing, especially to a group of well-educated professionals, including physicians.
This experience was a complete letdown, both culinarily and professionally. The service was inattentive, the staff poorly trained, and the pricing felt exploitative, with inflated charges and serious oversights in safety and hospitality.
We will not return and cannot recommend this establishment—especially not at this price point.

This place was unique for sure. Their attention to detail on the food presentation was on point. The staff was highly engaged and knowledgeable. The best part was the chef walking around to explain the dishes and history.
We also had the non alcoholic pairing and the juices were fresh and perfect addition to the dishes.
Cannot wait to come back!
