Staff is very rude. I walk in and wait in the order line. I can't see its order only because it's not marked until you're right up front. I am just in to pick up my online order. I see my online order with the order number sitting on the bar next to people. I confirm the order number and grab it only to have it literally snatched from my hand by an older lady behind the counter. She barks at me not to touch things that don't belong to me. I explain that it IS my order as I've verified with the receipt and that I'm sorry, but I've never been here before and it's very common for orders to be left out for pickup at restaurants. She says it's a health code issue. Mind you my order is sitting on the counter next to someone else eating and I can see that the receipt number matches my order number. She was rude again as she verified. Jumped into the conversation I was having with someone else unwarranted as well. It's a shame the staff is so horrible, because the sandwich was decent. They won't get any more of this local's money. I will go elsewhere.
Enjoyed our first stop in Tampa at Flan Factory! Esther greeted us with enthusiasm and asked if we had ever been there. After saying it was our first time in Tampa as well as her son's restaurant, she gave us what she thought we'd love. The food and Flan was AMAZING!! I later went inside to talk with her and she and her husband were the most genuinely hospitable people you could ever meet. She recommended great beaches, etc. And we exchanged information about our cultures and favorite places to visit. She loves Nashville ❤️. Told her to come visit us in Tupelo for the Elvis Museum. Hope she and her husband visit. Please look us up. Thank you for an amazing impression of Tampa and for the best Cuban sandwich and authentic fried rice and the best Flan EVER! Love you guys!
We were on the hunt for the best Cuban sandwich in Tampa and again the reviews brought us to Flan Factory. We ordered two sandwiches and some ham croquetas. The croquetas were not homemade I could tell they were most likely Catalina brand but hey can’t knock them because they are good. Now on to the Cuban sandwich. While it was nicely toasted and had a very generous portion on pork it was a little too much pork. It tasted more like a pan con lechón (roasted pork sandwich) and the pork itself was seasoned with wayyyyyy tooooo much oregano. I tasted oregano for what felt like days after this. It’s was definitely not an authentic Cuban sandwich but was tasty and very filling. I would return to try one more time and maybe try some other items. I would rate the sandwich a 5/10. My husband also had the flan which he said was good.

We are originally Miami Cubans that have moved up to North East FL so we don't have great options for Cuban food where we live. I recently started to go to Moffitt in Tampa to soon start Chemo treatment and when we looked up Cuban places around us, The Flan Factory was calling my name! We walked in to a beautiful restaurant with amazing Cuban decor and atmosphere. We ordered 4 appetizers and 2 sandwiches which were all amazing and delicious. Before we left, we were greeted by the owner Ester, who was so kind and amazing. She made us feel welcomed and part of her family. Before we left, we bought 6 small Flans to bring home that were delicious and amazing. Flan Factory is now going to be our go to place in Tampa.

Generous portions of traditional Cuban food. A must stop restaurant in Tampa for breakfast or lunch! My wife loved it and she’s a picky eater.

The cuban sandwiches are good, but I'd rather focus on the two items that keep me coming back. The fried cheese with guava sauce is fantastic. I don't know of anywhere else that serves it and I don't need to know. Also, I love flan and theirs is top-notch. Plenty of flan varieties, but I like my flan to be flan. Delicious food all around.

I enjoyed a Cuban sandwich and a salted caramel flan. I have been making flan (cheese, coconut and regular vanilla flavors) since childhood so I enjoyed the new salted caramel flavor and its texture. It hit all the right notes. I’ve never tried the guava flan, so I need to go back for this one and another Cuban sandwich.

I got the Midnight Special sandwich and my husband had a shrimp bowl! It was absolutely delicious and I wish we could have stayed long enough to have flan because I really wanted the pistachio flan….
Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to go back one day soon! Darn.
