Think twice before calling this place for help. I thought they would be able to help my friend who was a young single mother of three. Her ex boyfriend is a drug dealer and a drug user. He would refuse to let her leave with the children. I hadn't spoken to her in many years, but she contacted me for help. I told her that we should call DCF
to help us. They came to interview us. Then they want to interview him. I avoided answering the door for close to a week. When they were finally able to drug test him, he was able to go behind closed doors to urinate. He was able to use this in court as not being a drug user because he passed the test. They were not able to take the children away from him. Not to mention they told them to put the children in a daycare near where he lived. He was able to use that during a court hearing, then the judge made a court order that the children had to stay in the daycare near his home. It's coming up on a year and we are still dealing with this.Nonsense a year later. I had the means to hire a lawyer for her, but most people don't have that advantage. The point here is that the DCF was not helpful at all.

Been calling for days, too busy try again. My old card was reported lost or stolen (not by me) ordered one in February, never got it, went to see about it on April 10th reordered a new card again, still waiting, don't have food, or money to get to the office 6.6Mile's s away. Do better, help us.
UPDATEfinally got a hold of an agent named
Dave, he spent a good minute trying to figure out why I never received 1st two cards, now anxiously awaiting for a third attempt. 3rd times the charm. Sometime next week. Meanwhile grateful for friends that helped me get some groceries until then. I'll let you know if I received card or if I have to order one yet again, wish me luck

They treat very badly
Was easy to make an appointment.
They treat people very badly and have terrible customer service.
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The Manager is extremely rude, she does not like to help at all. Seems as if they only favor the Spanish people at this location. Everyone else has to make an appointment. No one answers the phone, which is very unprofessional

Hi my name is Vanessa Facenda I just turned 20 ,, this place is not the right location for family’s only one person at a time can go in not even my own mom I was adopted and in and in the foster care system a beautiful and sad story that will be heard one day ,,,and my brother whom died of cancer ,,I have been diagnosed with severe depression ever since I was young a few that required hospitalization and therapy appointments which was which was taken away from me recently and i can’t have access to those services anymore i am a full time student who is almost done with my AA degree in business politics along with working at one of the best grocery stores however despite trying my best I went down to this office to see about getting some services back to help me with mental heath and my health needs like every teen and young adult should have access too and did everything they asked I waited for over a month for this appointment and didn’t take my case as important so I will continue to fight for my needs and one day help others that need help, I never knew how disheartening the government was until I experienced it first hand I hope many people read this.
There needs to be outside intervention to come in and fix this government office. The place is incompetent. There are too many issue to list what a failure it is.
Today was my second visit to this place. The staff treated me very well, the waiting time was only 5 minutes and the lady (I don't know her name) in office 4 was very friendly and efficient.
