The food was good with portion sizes you can share for the price. We visited the Thursday before Valentine’s Day and sat on the patio our server was nice and assisted me with selecting dinner options, while waiting for the food to come we looked at k-pop videos and enjoyed the fresh air with a beer. The fries came out first 😳 they were fresh the bacon and cheese on top hot 🔥and crunchy 🤤. The wings are most definitely worth come back for 🤤 hands down. The jalapeño poppers they were okay. The beef dish with the added egg was good. I am glad I gave Ganchu a try and I hope to visit again soon.

Korean food was ok, the spicy pork was a bit too greasy & lacked the sharp spiciness. 제육의 칼칼한 매운맛이 부족한 순한 맛이었습니다. The chicken is very crispy and pretty thick breading. A spicy sauce somewhere between the sweet spicy & buldak would’ve been great. Great atmosphere and employees.

The fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce was perfectly crispy. The beef bulgogi was super savory. Paired with a great selection of beer, I'm sure to bring my friends back again and again. Hack: order buldak sauce for a good amount of spice!

We were craving Korean food, and after seeing Gangchu on Instagram, we decided to visit for weekend dinner.
Upon arrival, we realized Gangchu is a lively Korean Karaoke bar, packed with people enjoying their food and drinks. Since tables were full, we grabbed seats at the bar while waiting for a table to open up.
After browsing the menu and discussing our options, we started with a Lychee Soju and ordered:Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Wings, Beef Bulgogi, Japchae.
The Lychee Soju was a refreshing and fun way to start our meal. As soon as a table became available, we moved over and soon received our food.
The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was seasoned, crispy, and served with french fries that complemented it well. The Chicken Wings were crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.
Next, we had the Beef Bulgogi, which was tender, flavorful, and easily the best dish of the night. However, Japchae (glass noodles) was disappointing--it lacked the flavor we were expecting, and we've had better versions elsewhere.
Overall, Gangchu is a great spot for Korean food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. If you're looking for a fun place to enjoy Soju, flavorful dishes, and Karaoke, this is the place to be!

Food was great. Service not so great. Took awhile to get our drink order in and there was only our table and one other. Had to flag down for refills. Then when you finally get a refill they just keep the watered down remnants in the cup and just top it off without more ice, so you end up with some watered down warm soda. Food was quick though and tasty. Just not a fan of the service.

Place was very cozy they also have a karaoke room for groups. The workers were very nice even though we came 1 hour before closing and we had 9 people. Service was fast and food very good, drinks were good as well. Just hard to give anything a 5 it gotta blow my mind

The selection and quality of food is great; a big selling point. For karaoke its probably your only decent option for the area. Song selection is good and you can queue songs from a touchscreen at the front of the room. But beware; we booked the karaoke room and it seemed like they double booked the room so they're losing a star for that. The room also needs to be darker (there are untinted windows) and tambourines.

In the running for the worst dining experience ever. We visited on a Thursday, well before closing and it seems like we ruined the servers plans to go home early. We asked to be seated at a table and were offered the bar multiple times. We finally got sat, ordered. Karaoke had been discontinued and was not longer available. The atmosphere has great potential and it was not crowded. My two friends were half way through their meal and I inquired on the status of what I’d ordered. The server went to the kitchen and 15 minutes later told me they ran out of it. Then told me the kitchen was closed so I could only order select items, not even sure what they were. If I hadn’t asked about my food, when did they plan on telling me. When the bill came, I had to ask them to remove the food that I never got. Will never go again, karaoke might be good. Good luck.

A noticeable positive difference from 2 years ago. Food actually tastes like korean food. We went for lunch had takoyaki, chicken, kimchi fried rice and tteobokki. Everything was good. Kimchi fried rice was a little bit on the sweet side but nothing to complain about. Way better than the last time I went when it tasted straight up like gochujang. There was one other table when we went in. I wish they hadnt sat us right next to the karaoke room. Service was still very good. Both waitresses checking in every few minutes.

Loved this place! The atmosphere is great and the prices are better. Our table tried the beer snacks, fried chicken, Jaeyook and ramen. We were very happy with every dish.
The jaeyook is a very large portion and super tasty. It’s served with picked vegetables on the side which was a nice addition. The ramen was only $6 and very tasty. We added a fried egg to each dish was worth it. The fried chicken is absolutely worth raving about. So tender and crispy and flavorful.
The have a huge selection of yummy drinks including different flavored sodas that were surprisingly delicious.
Overall the experience was great and we will definitely be returning. The service was also very good and everyone was super friendly.

I've been 3 times now and every time the food was so yummy and the service was quick and friendly. I can't speak on the drinks since I don't drink. The music in the front dining room is always great, lots of Kpop and - at least during dinner service, can't speak for lunch - a large TV displaying music performances.
2 of the 3 times I've gone we did Karaoke. The room is big enough to comfortably fit a large group. The mics and system all worked just fine. There are 2 TVs so you can read lyrics from anywhere in the room.
The music selections for Karaoke are not super up to date - only certain mega hits get in the system fast. Only a few English Kpop songs BTW (like Butter BTS and Who by Jimin). Also, not as many regular Kpop songs as I thought they would have as a Korean restaurant. Not like I could sing them anyway so it wasn't a big deal lol! But if you can and want to, Kpop selections are not the majority. Most songs are in English from like the 80s - 20teens, some more recent, some older. Lots of genres though - country, pop, rap, alt, rock, etc. You can look at the selections yourself using the "Singa" app on your phone. It's free.
Overall, it's fun and the food and service are good. Just don't expect a large Korean set list if you do Karaoke.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dumplings are good!
Parking: Small parking lot. If you go late at night, be prepared to park across the street behind another restaurant.

I have not been to this area of Tampa before, and after an appointment, I found this great Korean GEM ? for a quick lunch.
I tried Beef Mandoo, Spicy Jin Ramen, and Soy Garlic Crispy Chicken Wings. Everything was fresh, plated nicely and amazingly delicious!
When I say crispy, it's a delightful crispy perfection! It's not thick and hard like most restaurants. The wings were large sized and flavorful, and the crispy coating was nice and very light.
Even though I didn't have an adult beverage, they indeed have a fully stocked bar.
I highly recommend that you give Gangchu a try. It's a great place to hang out for drinks and food. They are very friendly, have excellent customer service, are clean and have an upbeat atmosphere. I will return! 감사합니다 ?
