My, my, my. I have to tell you about this little sandwich shop tucked away in a quaint little store under The Element in downtown Tampa. It sits on the corner of N Tampa St and E Polk St. Let me start by saying, I would have taken a picture of the sandwich, but I so hungry I didn't have time. The operators of the shop are Jay and Jay. Those two are so sweet and vested into making delectable edible adventures that are flavor bombs in your mouth. I asked both of them what they like. The first Jay said, "Turkey Bacon", then the second Jay said, "Tuna with hot honey". I became intrigued how hot honey would play out with the tuna. After a quick sample, I was sold. I told Jay to make it his way. It came with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a pepper relish (I think). I requested extra mayo because I like my sandwiches a little sloppy. The sandwich was umami. Oh yeah, they have signature bread. They are so worth the visit. Please try the Hot Honey Tuna made Jay's way and tell them Ashley sent you.

I have to shout out Gateway Subs as they came through for me big time for my son’s 3rd birthday. Due to Hurricane Milton and almost no one having power our original catering fell through and Grant made us 15 sandwiches / wraps, cut them in thirds, labeled and presented them perfectly for our party. I literally cried happy tears. Best part - everything was delicious. We will be forever customers. Do yourself a favor and support places that care.

By far the best subs in town! Not your typical ham and cheese sub shop. The subs they make are booming with flavor and variety. Cool Ranch Ryder, and their October special (Witch hunt?) are amazing! I wish they had a Tyrone location buttttt then again I’d probably be there multiple times a week if they were that close to me. The staff are always so friendly, fast and efficient, and accommodating. Kenwood location is our favorite one but I’m sure they’re all amazing.

This is absolutely disappointing. I just dropped in. It was not busy to receive such a bad sandwich. I asked for cheese and for it to be toasted. My sandwich is COLD and pretty empty!!!
I’ve been here before and the sandwiches were so good. I can’t say the same anymore !

The young lady making my food would not get off the phone the whole time she was preparing my food. She was unable to concentrate. I was okay with the slow pace until the conversation got heated with whoever she was gossiping with and literally saw spit particles go into my sandwich. At that point I asked her to stop and refund me my money. She was not even able to refund it to the card she ended up giving me cash out of the register. I come here often I have not seen her most of the time the people that make these sandwiches make them amazing. I'm upset that I didn't get to have tummy sandwich that I was looking forward to during my lunch break. Also to add she never got off the phone even after helping the next customer behind me.

Gateway subs was absolutely incredible! My husband and I had just moved to Tampa and this was our first restaurant we tried. We were blown away by Mark’s (the general manager) welcoming personality and great service! He made us feel at home, and the subs were amazing! 10/10 recommend to anyone.
