Tonight was so fun! I have been to GenX a few times before but tonight was very busy! The staff was killing it. We had so much fun with the DJ. We had a party of 15 and we came in at 515 and spoke to Megan and Dean and even though there were many other reservations they made our party a priority. They made sure to take care of us even though they were bartending and running around with a bus tub cleaning tables. This place was so fun and so many other customers were in wigs or outfits of the GenX era. We loved the atmosphere and are so glad we had our birthday party at GenX. Please tell Megan and Dean thank you for taking such good care of us all night and the DJ was giving us life! Thanks GenX! Here's to another year around the sun. đ

This was a very fun place to hang out. Dean and Meghan we're amazing I kept telling them how they were killing it but they kept assuring me that tonight wasn't even busy. The DJ was really fun and I kept singing along as to the two couples beside us. He was awesome as well. The bartenders told me that their other events going on throughout the week at Gen x and I can't wait to come in for karaoke. Super fun place I love the blackened chicken Caesar wrap and my boyfriend had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. It was a lot of bread but still really good. Our bartender told us to come back and try one of the burgers since they are known for their burgers. We will be back thank you.

I was there this Friday (it was packed!) and again this Saturday. I got there as the day bartender was finishing his shift (Dean I think?) another girl bartender came in and she seemed okay at first but she literally stood there by the ice bin. She literally leaned against the ice bin for over an hour on her phone only moving when a random order came in on paper. Once the next bartender came in (said her name was Megan) the day bartender finally had some help. He was helping the entire bar and was really fun. He made us a few different amazing shots and some drinks on the menu (sex and candy is amazing). Still the slender girl with long brown hair stood doing practically nothing. The other two quickly took over and ran that place so amazingly. The DJ that night was so fun We actually closed out and came back later in the evening because the bartenders were a lot of fun and the vibes were great. We had the corn dog nuggets and the chicken Caesar salad. All of that was great. It took a while but it was busy. I am going to leave 5 stars because everything was great. But if it was up to the one bartender with such a sour face and a terrible attitude we would never come back. I have been here a few times in the past and have had a great time with most of the staff. This particular employee is just a very negative energy and I think her teammates could see it. I will be happy to edit my post once I am sure the management or owner sees this as I know it is usually a great time. This employee is for sure a sour spot in what is usually a fun vibe.

We came in after the loss of one of our friends at Tampa General and our server John was so friendly and such a great vibe after a long and traumatic evening. He told us he was new behind the bar and we were surprised at that because he was very attentive and knew his stuff. We will be back to see John behind the bar and loved the Florida green teas.

We had a 60th birthday party with 19 of us in our party. The place was fantastic, the person who arranged my reservation excellent, and the first young lady we had as server extremely nice. After taking a few drinks order they changed server on us. Cannot remember her name, rather tall, blond girl, that had a very bad attitude with all of us. After I complained to the first waitress, seemed like she had changed her attitude a little bit, however then when it came to sending back food because it was not good , she said that she could not do that. I am telling you that salad smelled bad. Also a few drinks were not good which we also had to send back. And she told us we couldnât send anything back. Then one of us had cash to pay with and she rolled her eyes saying that â I guess I can accept that.â Everything was a problem. Then we had a few questions about our bill and she got very defensive. We picked this place because of the theme. So that made up for at least a portion of our visit. But honestly, the customer service (based on the 2 nd server) , food and drinks I would not recommend it. I am quite disappointed. Donât like to leave negative comments but we planned this for a while and figured people should know. Hopefully you will hire people that has experience with customer service.

I was at the bar tonight and Megan and Trinity were my bartender. They were fun and dancing to a great DJ. At one point in the night some lady walked up and instantly started yelling at them for what seemed like no reason. Megan handled it and moved on. As a person in the industry, I am impressed how she moved on and handled the situation. It was a busy night and I always have fun when I'm in town. I wish there was one of these in my town! Cheers!

If I could give the bar service a rating, it would be â0â Sloppy, distasteful, inappropriate and so unprofessional âŠbartender / manager Meagan asking to do shots with customers. We were a party of 12. When we arrived, we started at one end of the bar and worked all the way around, trying to make eye contact with one of the 3 bartenders. As we waited we had to witness Meagan (a manager) doing shots, when we finally caught eyes & were able to flag one of them over. They had to complain to one another and flash over looks at us like we did something wrong⊠sorry just been waiting for drinks. âIf you donât want to service us, we can go elsewhereâ I said, and she just walked over to the next customer and said I was inappropriate, âReally?â And doing shots with customers and ignoring paying customers is not inappropriate? I had ordered a round of drinks and was with a party or I would have left the drinks for your bartenders to enjoy. Suited for one person, thatâs all the bar tenders can handle; especially if theyâre doing shots behind the bar while paying customers wait to order drinks. The air was low, it was hot as hell and the reunion overflow arrived and they begged to please lower the air. Not interested in the unkindness of your bar staff; especially your manager Meagan.

The atmosphere was fun. I like the 80s vibe. However, the food was trash. My Chicken Sandwich was terrible. The chicken was fried too hard. They would not take it off of my ticket. So I recommend if you order anything, just order an appetizer or if you get a sandwich make it a wrap. Also, the drinks were small for the price. This is one place I would not visit again if I were to return to Tampa. The waitress was pleasant and apologetic for the bad food.

My office is right across the street, and today I decided to give this place a tryâjust stopped in for a drink and a quick bite after work while waiting for the rain to pass. Unfortunately, it was a big mistake. The food was absolutely terrible. I ordered the tater tots appetizer, and my husband had the blue cheese burger. I couldnât even eat a third of my dishâit was overly greasy and just⊠wrong. To top it off, $9 for a beer at a place like this feels excessive. Overall, very disappointing. I wonât be coming back.
