Grillsmith - Carrollwood

I had the sirloin prepared medium and it was perfect and very tender. Green beans were perfect too, not over seasoned and al dente, my favorite. I enjoyed the salad too. I was there during happy hour and took advantage of their reduced prices on select appetizers and drinks. I had the sangria and pretzel and was shocked that two arrived with a beer cheese dip. The sangria was very good with squeezed fresh fruit and a touch of cinnamon. Delicious! The atmosphere is more upscale but not over the top or intimidating. Noise level was a bit loud but it was very busy and so with as many people being there it wasn't unexpected.

5 stars all around! Ty was fantastic, loved him! Had the 3 course, salad, chicken and chocolate cake! Everything was so great. Visiting from Colorado but if I'm ever in Tampa again I will come back for sure!

Pam, our server, was absolutely wonderful—sweet, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of. This was my first visit back to Grillsmith since the renovations, and I’m happy to say the food was excellent.

We started with three appetizers: the spicy Thai shrimp, crab cakes, and a flatbread—each one flavorful and perfectly prepared. Two of us ordered the burgers, which were compact, juicy, and served on a soft brioche bun. I opted for a wedge salad instead of fries, and it was delicious. Another in our group enjoyed the chicken marsala, while someone else ordered two small plates—the tuna and the voodoo shrimp—both of which were excellent.

The only downside was our seating choice. We sat in a booth near the kitchen, which was a bit bright and noisy. While I understand the open-kitchen concept, next time I’ll choose a table or booth away from that area for a more relaxed atmosphere.

That said, Grillsmith really shines with its food, service, and ambiance. I’m also looking forward to enjoying their beautiful outdoor seating area once the weather cools down.

Ty was our server, and was absolutely fantastic. Greeted us in a timely manner, gave us time to look as we caught up (old family friends that hadn’t seen each other in a long time), gave amazing recommendations (chicken Milanese 👌🏼), and did it all with a smile. Everyone at the table agreed he was great! Our food was equally as fantastic. For happy hour apps we did the Thai shrimp, pub pretzel, and a flatbread (so good). My husband had the pepperoni flat bread as his entree, I had the chicken Milanese ( a la Ty) and it was delicious. Seriously, I way overate. My husband was pleased with his dinner and I tried a bite of the filet mignon as well, so tender and juicy. Everyone left so happy and full!

Customer service staff was good but, overall management and kitchen staff need improvement. Witnessed kitchen staff member touching food with his bare hands, then with tongs grabbed a receipt put it on the table in the back came around and grabbed a 48 dollar steak off the grill and put it on a plate. Alerted management they assured he would be corrected. Steak was still served.

these were the best tasting wings I've ever eaten from any restaurant. blackened wings. very reasonable
