I'm honestly sad to write this review update because I've been going to King State for 4 years. Coffee is still good, but breakfast is absolutely abysmal. Cold, unevenly microwaved bacon with layers of solidified grease. Cold, watery grits. Cold, not even toasted toast. Eggs were warm and overly salty. Returned plate to fix the bacon, and still it was cold and covered in grease. 4 years ago there weren't as many choices for breakfast. I'm not going back.

The place has thousand flies, that was absurd! I went there only because of the reviews but I was shocked on how things were at this place. The floor was so dirty and there were flies all over me however, the employees were nice. I would always tell my GF don’t ever fall for reviews and that was the best example. I stayed for 5 mins and left.

We arrived at the establishment around 12:45 PM on a Sunday and placed our order at the counter. The employee at the register informed us that the wait time would be approximately 20 minutes. After waiting for 45 minutes, I approached one of the food runners to express my concern about not having received our food yet. Unfortunately, he was not very friendly and stated that there was nothing he could do as the kitchen was backed up. I mentioned that other customers who had just sat down were already being served, but he walked away without further assistance. A few minutes later our food started coming out and not very surprising the orders were wrong . Customers service absolutely stinks no one seemed bothered that we weren’t served correctly..I will say that their only saving grace was that the food was good.

King State is the reason I have called tampa my home for the entirety of my 38 years here. As I passed by a couple departing upon my arrival, I inquired to them what was the best thing on the menu. Instantaneously, the woman replied "pizza" & the man confirmed the "Frisco Melt" was of a superior quality to that of steak n' shake's rendition of the American favorite. I, then, opened the door to ? ? State to observe an old city gas station transformed to a restaurant/elevated bar to which, I believe, everyone that has frequented this gem ? and like myself, has a fantastic time. Mike was slangin' drinks (coffee,beer,cocktails,&reposado) at a high-level. Indoor & outdoor seating, priced correctly, and I am trying to conjure the verbiage to say something wrong with this establishment, however, I failed. Ezra cares about the food he serves and the vibe is casual and beyond welcoming. Highly-recommend and thank you for unrivaled hospitality and your effervescence.

The atmosphere was what really sold me. It's perfect for a hangout with friends and feels oddly calming (?), mixed with young and trendy. The interior design is so so nice. The matcha was solid- not super matcha-y, but not bad.

1st visit always wanted to try it out pretty unwelcoming vibe .Cashier and other guy at bar were having a conversation made it seem like I was interrupting them to put my order in.Ok iced latte nothing special.Not worth going out of my way for. We brought a pup with us so we stayed on the patio and took turns ordering my friend ordered pizza said the same thing cashier was standoffish and they originally brought our order out wrong but fixed it.

This used to be a good spot but the food/service today was disappointing. We waited over ten minutes for a pastry which came out cold. They also got my coffee order wrong.
