unbelievable food. so tasty. great service.yummy
Awesome spot! Been coming here for the past several years when I visit Tampa and it's for sure one of my favorite BBQ restaurants in my travels around the country!
In part because Konan's isn't too far from the Tampa airport (around a 10 minute drive), I've often made it my first stop when coming to town. Konan's is a black-owned BBQ restaurant located in a residential neighborhood that's not too far from Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play. Speaking of football, the family that owns and runs the restaurant has produced a few D-I basketball and football players, including a current player who's projected to be a high-round NFL draft pick in the next draft.
The last time I was here was a Friday, a little before noon. It hadn't gotten too busy yet so wasn't much of a wait in line. Ordered my favorite meal there, which is the 2-meat (ribs and pulled pork) combo ($17). The combo comes with two sides - I usually get the flavored rice (Rice 'a la Trigg) and the mac and cheese. The meal also includes a slice of bread. Lemonade is $3 extra, bottled water $2.
As always, the ribs and pulled pork were excellent. I especially love the yellow sauce (I think a mustard sauce) they use to flavor their meats and rice side dish, which is a unique staple of this restaurant. The mac and cheese is always very tasty as well. Their food is also always well-portioned - I always leave very full!
Altogether my meal came out to around $21, which was a very fair price for two meats, two sides, and a lemonade. Konan's does give a small discount if you pay with cash rather than credit.
It seems most customers come here for take-out, though there's plenty of seating both inside and outside the restaurant. The staff is always very friendly, though I'm not too big on the fact that they're big Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans (LOL).
If you've never been would definitely check it out! Extremely solid southern-style BBQ restaurant - this might be my favorite restaurant in Tampa!

I was given a strong recommendation by a traveler to visit Konan's BBQ. My wife and I are glad we listened. Although the site was only a few miles away, getting there during rush hour can be a bit of a pain. It was worth the effort. There's a parking lot, but the popularity of this place causes you to park on the street.
We ordered 4 meat plates just to sample the cooking. We had ribs, sausage, chopped/pulled pork, and chicken. The BBQ sauce wasn't your typical tomato based; they had what seemed to be a Carolina Gold. I tried the Baked Beans and Collard Greens; my wife had the Mac & Cheese and Potato Salad. The flavor was great; the temperature of the greens was cooler than the others.
Overall, the service, food, and atmosphere were great. The pricing if the entrées guarantees that we will be patronizing this fellow greek member each time we visit the Tampa area.
THE FOOD IS DAMN GOOD AND WORTH THE EFFORT TO GET THERE!

We were in town visiting and we decided to stop by Konan’s to have some barbecue. As soon as we came in the door, we were greeted with huge smiles and nothing but friendliness. They walked us through the menu and asked us multiple times if there’s anything else they could get us. We received our food and we went outside to eat it. The food was phenomenal. Some of the best barbecue I’ve had. To top it off the owner brought out some of his special lemonade, which was unbelievable. I highly recommend Konan’s to anybody who is down for some good barbecue.

Great bbq, sides are pretty good as well. My only complaint is that they put the barbecue sauce on the bone side of the ribs. Makes no sense to me

Always the best tastes and service 🙏🏿
This is our favorite place for BBQ. Anytime we have company visiting we have to get a family meal and a gallon of the pineapple tea (crack tea as my hubby and I refer to it). We moved to Lakeland and still make the drive to get Konan's.
The best BBQ ever world wide
My wing was missing.
I ordered this from Uber Eats and I’m so mad at myself that I haven’t found this establishment sooner. Seriously delicious food, all of it. Five stars across the board. They got everything right! You can tell they put their heart and soul into everything they make. I could eat this five times a week at least! This is seriously the best meal I’ve ever ordered from Uber. I got the four meat platter with greens, baked beans, mac and cheese and potato salad. Every single item was a hit! A true hidden gem. 11/10 definitely ordering again ASAP
