There was a short young man who denied us entry because we were under 21, but he did not let us know any reason behind it. He pointed at the exit and just angrily stared at us and we were very confused. We went up to another security person, an older black gentleman, who we asked what the problem was. He told us we were under 21 which I responded I wanted to form a complaint against the man who just pointed and scolded us. The man told us it “wasn’t a big deal” and that we were “doing too much”. It was incredibly unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone, even 21+. Even when I pointed out the man who was disrespectful he smiled at us mockingly and it was incredibly rude. An incredibly disgusting place.

terrible. the bartenders are so nice but the security would not help me look for my belongings that i lost in the bar after pleading with them, but they were letting drunk people back inside.... terrible security, except the nice older gentleman named JD who comforted me and found it for me. thank you to him. aside from him, very rude service and wont be returning.

They have Gators decorations at the bar even though USF beat them and they’re in Tampa. What a clown show.

I ordered three different beers on tap and they were all the same. They all tasted like vanilla. Super weird. I asked the waitress the check the taps and she said no. Otherwise I really like the atmosphere for Sunday football games. I would just recommend getting a bottle of beer instead of a tap.

Dear MacDinton’s Management,
I am writing to formally bring to your attention an incident that occurred during my visit to MacDinton’s SoHo location on 09/03/25.
At approximately 2:40 p.m., my friends and I ordered drinks without being informed of a last call. Within minutes of receiving our drinks, we were told the bar was shutting down and that we needed to leave. We were surprised, but calmly went toward the exit with our drinks in hand.
One of my friends had been traveling since 6 a.m. from another country, another had just finished a long double shift and driven over an hour and a half to join me, and we were celebrating my 24th birthday. Instead of being allowed to finish our drinks, a staff member named Billy became visibly angry and aggressive. Despite me apologizing and explaining that we had just ordered, he was sweating, shouting profanities at us, and ultimately grabbed and crushed our drinks out of our hands. He slammed us toward the gates and called us “entitled pieces of shit.” Another individual then repeated the same insult, while multiple security staff stood by and did nothing.
I work in the hospitality industry myself, as do my friends, and we fully understand the stress of late nights, closing procedures, and difficult guests. However, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable by any professional standard. Not only were we disrespected and humiliated, but our drinks were taken away, spilt on us, well before official closing time.
Because of this, I will be contacting my bank for a refund of our charges. More importantly, I expect to be contacted directly by ownership or senior management with an apology and assurance that this matter will be addressed. I have always been a loyal guest at MacDinton’s and often bring friends, tipping well, but after this experience, my confidence in your establishment has been badly shaken.
I trust you will take this matter seriously and respond promptly.

Perhaps the worst place I’ve ever been to in my life. Trashy bar. Was there with some friends we drank a few drinks tried to go to the restroom and assaulted by security who denied us entrance to their restroom even though we were customers. Do not go to this place ever.

The security guard working inside during happy hour last night was extremely aggressive and almost tackled our guy friend out of the bar for getting on the edge of the stage for ONE SECOND. There was no warning, my friend had not done that previously, and it was not an ongoing thing. The security guard didn’t even come up and tell him to leave. he RAN at our friend and pushed him all the way out of the bar.
It was extremely dead and there was maybe a handful of people inside at the time.
The entire situation was handled extremely poorly and according to the manager it’s an “unspoken rule” that men don’t get on the stage. Maybe make it a “spoken” rule and hire security guards that actually know how to handle and de-escalate situations instead of causing a problem when there isn’t one. Had we gotten a verbal warning there would have been no issue - we are never looking for trouble and we just wanted to have a good time.
Also, raising your prices to $15 for HH while simultaneously making the cups smaller is an interesting move lol.

A great pub with a nice atmosphere and great specials. They have events throughout the week and typically do $1 beers and an AYCD on the weekends.
