Thank you so much for providing us with the highest level of customer satisfaction. I really do appreciate the wonderful hospitality and birthday. We will definitely be back.
We love the ambiance at Malio's and typically go before a show at the Straz Center. I love how attentive they are to be sure you are done in time for your show. Our servers were fantastic, and the chef came out a few times to check on us as we had requested something off the menu, which we very much appreciated!
Erica was amazing! We were seated earlier than our reservation. Maliki gave details on the phone to help us navigate in. Overall, a wonderful experience for my husband's birthday ❤️
We went to Malio's to celebrate our anniversary, and the food was as good as it has always been. If you are not familiar with the downtown Tampa area, it can be a little confusing to find the parking for Malio's. We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation and were seated promptly. We were given a nice table for two with a view of the University of Tampa campus and the river. We enjoyed the scallop appetizer and the jumbo shrimp Theresa. Both were delicious. The sauce with the shrimp was really outstanding. The brought warm bread and butter that soaked up the sauce wonderfully. My wife enjoyed the crabmeat pasta which was loaded with large pieces of lump crab meat. It also contained some red pepper flakes, so it had a little bit of a bite to it, but delicious none the less. I wanted the veal chop, but they were out of them. So, I got the 16-ounce bone in Duroc pork chop. I was not disappointed. It was juicy, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Potatoes Malio were also very good. However, the truffle used in the potatoes did overpower the delicate sweet flavor of the crab somewhat. That said, they were still enjoyable. The service was the only thing that, while good, was not the standard I would expect. The water glasses, while rather small, were often empty and the server hard to find. The server was a pleasant young lady who gave suggestions and described the menu items very well but often seemed overwhelmed. At the end of the meal, she asked if we wanted to order a dessert. We opted for the bananas foster. This was an outstanding choice. While not traditional bananas foster, it was outstanding. Served with a dense cake, ice cream, Macadamia nuts, just great. What was odd to me, is that the server, then brought out a complimentary chocolate cake dessert for our anniversary. This was a sublime dessert; it just seemed like a bit of a rouse to raise the bill by offering a dessert prior to letting us know one would be provided by the restaurant. We probably would have ordered an extra anyway but seemed a little odd. Tampa is known for having many fine restaurants, and Malio's is certainly among the best. I will certainly visit again. With the food described, and 2 glasses of house wine, the bill was slightly over $200.00 plus gratuity. For me, this was reasonable given the quality of the meal, even if the service was a little off the mark.
Amazing! Food, service, and ambiance were perfect for a Happy Hour / Pre-theater dinner outside. Highly Recommend!
Malio's is 10/10. Our server was awesome and the food delicious. Thanks for a great evening!
Steak and scallops were very good. Apps were ok, cheese board was not very full and bacon was dry.
We ordered 2 Filet Mignon's both cooked to perfection and came to the table hot. Jalapeño creamed style corn was fresh off the cob and super tasty, not hot and spicy and all. Bread served was good too with real butter. Ordered the chocolate cake for take out as we were both too full after dinner and a bottle of Italian wine. It too was really delicious. Service was prompt and our server was really nice and talkative filling us in on local things as we are from out of state. A very nice dinner that we would do again.
Our experience was outstanding! From the food, to the service (Daniel was attentive and very knowledgeable) to the wine-just delicious.
Excellent food and service! We will be back! Seating and atmosphere very good with space and not noisy !

Loved sitting on the patio with such a beautiful view. The food and service were the best.
We have been enjoying the Shrimp Theresa and the crab cakes! Our server Jordan was excellent!
To start we love how clean the establishment is. No dust collecting on the ceiling or the lamp shades or in the creaves of the walls which are lime stone. It was simply spotless. I appreciate that! The food. The ceaser salad the dressing is really good. The French onion soup perfect. The mozz sticks are triangles and they are lightly breaded but well cooked. The marinara simple but well done. The NY strip my spouse said had good flavouring. The blackened salmon which I got was mostly falvourless and looked like the blackened seasoning I sprinkle on fish at home when I'm in a hurry and take 5 minutes to cook for myself. Nothing special. Only mine taste blackened. Do not get me wrong the cook was well done. It was moist and hot when served. Just nothing memorable about it. I wouldn't spend $30 on a piece of fish like that again. The plating was horrible. Just a piece of flesh in the center of the plate. No thought nothing grand and it actually made you stop and think 78 for a NY strip and 30 for a $6 piece of fish? And just slapped in the middle of the plate. No sauce, not a little greenery nothing. Very poor presentation. The bread they serve is a yeast raised bread that is very similar to homemade soft pretzels loaded with garlic. I have to say that was the best part of the meal. The asparagus with hollandaise. The hollandaise butter was not added well and it was watery thin, so it wouldn't stick to the very smoky asparagus. The chips were overcooked and oily, stone cold and what appeared to have watered down balsamic drizzled over top and a bottle of blue cheese dressing squirted on it. Not good. Our waitress took both of those off the bill. We were going to get dessert but after the experience we decided not to. First time in and we like to eat out in nice places. We spend a lot of money eating out but we will not be back here. It's definitely not worth what you spend. As a chef you should care more about what you send out. The service was good again nothing grand but she did come back and we appreciated her time she gave when she was there. My husband ran out of tea 2xs. But she was sweet and we really liked her. But never the less the environment was pleasing.
Ate outside so not the best atmosphere, they could make it a bit more appealing when your spending 100 a person, love everything else.
The staff was polite and patience with us the entire time we were there. From the food's presentation, down to the taste was good. This is a space you can take someone special or bring the family to have dinner.
