This time I went to place it was awful for the price.i did not enjoy it at all.now six years ago it was very nice an the food was good.

More rice than necessary so basically, for $49, I got lots of rice, one piece of cornbread, collard greens, candies yams, and maybe a 1 tablespoon of hog maws and I have a 1/2cup of Chitterlings and lots juice . This is not my first time visiting I've been coming here. Forever, even when they were on, Martin Luther King down by boulevard. I'm a longtime customer so I know what it should taste like. I know what it should look like, and this was by far the most disappointing visit my last visit 😕

This is a true hidden gem with the best jerk and baked chicken cabbage etc. Don't get me started on the lemonade bigupsss!

I wish I could give them a zero.. Instead of packing the food in a dinner container, they put chicken in a small container, rice and gravy and cornbread, and small container the peas in a little cup container. When I opened the container with the rice, the cornbread fell out on the floor. Then the rice in the gravy fell on the floor OK so I eat the peas when to open the top for the peas. It broke and it dropped only thing I got to eat was I didn’t eat the chicken and corn fritters I called them back. They asked the manager why was it packed this way, instead of her apologizing I was told to be quiet and let them talk and then I can talk. Never ever ever have I received service like this from you guys and I’ll never give you my money again bad bad bad bad service I got the chicken wing dinner with Black Eyed Peas and rice and I got corn. Fritters I could see if you put the corn fritters on the side never got the Black Eyed Peas on the side and it was just horrible and I spent my money for nothing never will you get my business again? Because my food wasn’t packaged correctly when I opened it up it fell on the floor all between my seats. These are the photos, but they refuse to refund me or talk to me.

I got catfish and shrimp. With literally every side. The collards are now in my top 5 list. Everything was tasty and worth the visit. Will be back often!

Them shrimps was kinda dry this was my 1st time in Tampa FL. The services was horrible. Didn't come check on us didn't say come again we want.

While in Tampa visiting decided to stop by an old soulfood joint to see if it's still good. We arrived 45 minutes before it was said to close and the lady was already outside locking up the place. I've seen where you may catch the doors locked within 10 to 15 minutes before closing time but an almost hour is ridiculous. In the case the close time differs from Google the owners might want to correct that so folks from out of town or even the area doesn't waste time and gas going out of the way.

Ordered some food from here off Uber eats and let me just say it was DELICIOUS. I got the meatloaf, cabbage, cornbread, candied yams, and baked beans and a sweet tea. I’ll definitely come back for an in person visit!

MLK LOCATION TAMPA: Yesterday was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered grilled fish. The fish was great but it came with a bunch of grilled onions on top with oil tripping on my fish. If I had wanted oil, I would have ordered fried fish. There were more onions than fish. The greens were terrible. They tasted like they came straight out of a can and the mac & cheese could have been better. The corn bread and strawberry lemonade was delicious. I went there with people that had been there before and said that the food was delicious but they were disappointed this time. Their smothered pork chops were not good and the candied yams were not cooked you could almost taste the can. Very disappointed for the price!!

Just went and got some food, everyone was super nice , super hospitable . I was iffy about the food since I’ve never been here before BUT LET ME TELL YOU, whoever is cooking this deserves to get blessed. Chicken is JUICY , Mac and cheese? Soooo creamy and cheesy , and the collard greens and cabbage? PERFECT . All around 10/10, so happy I found this place

The price for the food is okay I feel like you don't get enough food though. The chicken is great chitterlings overpriced. Pork chops are good catfish nuggets are good corn nuggets are good. But they are stingy on the sides.
