I don't know if the staff has changed up or we just came on a bad day but the food was definitely a disappointment ? There was NO, and I mean ABSOLUTELY NO seasoning of any kind used in any of our food - I got fried eggs, French toast, smoked sausage and breakfast potatoes - my girlfriend got scrambled eggs, grits, a waffle & bacon. No seasoning in anything, no butter, no nothing. The food definitely needed seasonings because it was all completely BLAND. The French toast & waffle looked like they had sat out a whole then got microwaved to heat them up because both were soggy, moist and not fresh. The syrup was the only thing with some flavor. The place could also definitely use a good cleaning, there were boxes EVERYWHERE, the dusty smell is very noticeable, the counter area is extremely cluttered. Just overall a bad experience and let down.

Menus posted on the wall but Malek our server (owner??) was very helpful and flexible as to options. He even suggested we could have a split order of grits and home fries when we could not make up our mind which lne to order.Mom and Pop kind of place. Definitely not a chain. Cluttered but clean. Most importantly the food was very good, prepared as ordered with generous portions. Staff and regular customers were our entertainment.Would go back again.

Diners, Dives, and Drive Ins wouldn't do this place justice. Run down, boxes everywhere (absolutely clean, just messy), handwritten menu boards. If it weren't for Maps telling me it was open, I wouldn't have known. Told it had a glorious history on N40 st, but fading into history here. YET, the coffee was great. Simple breakfast (eggs, grits, country ham, and a waffle!) can't be any more homemade. Wife loved her egg, bacon, and cheese on white. Lots of fish fry on the menu as well. Maybe it's a breakfast crowd in a commercial area, like a whole bunch of little mom and pop cafes, but I was satisfied with it.

I've been coming to Martha's since I was a little girl when they were located off of Hillsborough & 40th street. Their classic Salmon Croquet Breakfast will forever have my heart ❤️ One Of Tampa Bays Original Neighborhood Restaurant that loves their customers and feeds the community.
