It’s better to just by the pies at the store. Being meaning to visit this place for over 6 months based on the photos. I’m a super fan of the pies. It’s very underwhelming and impersonal from what I thought the place would be. The person at the front immediately tried to sell me pies. That’s not a bad thing but I was really there to kind look at where these famous pies come from and maybe ask a few questions about the history of Mike’s Pie. I was very disappointed because...
I did not know if I was at the right place to purchase a single pie, YES! I did not place an order and I only called ahead, fortunately they kept some frozen by the reception area. Very friendly receptionist and the pie was fantastic!
The key lime pie is definitely a must try. The filling is pretty straight-forward and most definitely a good tart key lime flavor with that rich sweet condensed milk, which really compliments that great Graham cracker crust that is not sweet but does have a perfect crunch. Good stuff, I applaud them. Only thing I wish Google maps did a better job of directions in that area where there are lots of businesses and warehouses. Only down side, Call them if you're heading there...
